I'm going to Oulten Park with the BMW car club would you believe!
I'll definately be taking it steady so hopefully they'll be ok. The pads are about a year old but there hardly worn. Suppose I would rather ruin them then throw them in the bin. I just dont want them to ruin my day!
Well my first trackday was booked today for next month. Ive currently got Greenstuff pads with brembo max disks. I know that opinions on the pads vary greatly.
Will they be ok for my first trackday or shall I buy something else for car is a daily driver so I dont want anything that squeels...
I still think spending a little money on a remap, matched inlets etc is worth it if your keeping the car as it just makes the car so much nicer to drive. Saying that I wouldn't have paid the full price for matched inlets!!
In which case the auxilery belt and tensioners need to be done. The aux belt runs the alternator, aircon, power steering and water pump. Its quite serious if it fails as it normally gets wrapped round the cam belt and snaps that also.
Most people stick with the stock plugs as they are very...
May I just point out that the cliosports dont have brake wear sensors so theres a possibility that it not your pads that need doing.
Think it normally means there a problem with your abs.
Cambelt is 5 years or 72k
Auxbelt is 5 years or 36k
How can you say the cambelt isn't related to age as rubber weakens over time?
Plugs are supposed to last 72k but I would do them every 36k if it was mine.
Sounds just like every cliosport ive ever heard! Just the injectors clicking. I had mine in the garage several times when I first got it to find out what the noise was and was told its normal.
I'm with them have been very impressed so far. John was telling me what mods I should do next! Ive got the 200bhp limit which I will never reach but it was only £10 more than the 190bhp limit so I though what the hell!!
You can do whatever you want to the car as long as you do not go over...
^^ Yep. The lower inlet to head gasket is a b**ch to change as well so hope that its not that leaking. I think the first port of call would be to check all the bolts are tightened correctly.
Including club discount a full belt change would be £360.53 at K-Tec. Thats if ive done the maths correctly. Not too bad in my eyes much better than taking the risk and then having a close to £1000 bill if it does go.
Megane engine fits but the gearbox doesn't IIRC. Just turbo the stock engine if you want.
Who really cares if your mates have quicker cars anyway? I expect you get better MPG and if your still having fun does it mattter? I would save the 2-6k its going to cost to get any decent power and put...
I would bother changing the mainfold as its a big job for small gains.
Stock 4-1 manifold with give better top end bhp whereas the 182 will give better low/midrange bhp iirc
You can't fit a 182 system as the exhaust runs straight through where the 172's spare wheel well is.
Get matched...
Even if the car is an import the exhaust system is the same as the cars are not true imports anyway. It just means that the car was brought into the country by somebody other than a dealer. If it is an import you will not have locking wheels nuts, factory fit alarm or the security etching on the...
