As title whenever I brake the dash illuminates as if I have switched the lights on. Only started happening today. I assume its a bad earth somewhere? Any ideas where to check to first?
Thanks
Sorry doesn't make much sense now ive read it!! To do a full fluid change after ive changed the hoses as its got some halfords 5.1 in there atm and I want to go back to dot 4 castrol super response.
Wish I had managed to find ATE blue cheap enough as it would have made it easier!!
Despite common belief theres nothing wrong with the 172 water pumps. Is it the belt thats squeaking, ones of the pulleys or an accesory like the alternator?
The paste dries out and crumbles away waste of time and money. Get some High temperature silicone sealant from halfords its made by loctite and works a treat as it flexes with exhaust movement.

At the end of the day its your car so you've got to do what you think is right. As long as your brother is confident with what hes doing then thats fine and hes knows that if it goes wrong...
Had a feeling it would be.
Latex glove and clamping sounds a good plan. Ive got some castrol super response to go in there as well as its got halfords 5.1 in there at the moment which I dont particualy trust!
Thanks for the help guys!
In anticipation of my braided lines turning up next week I just wanted to check that I understand how to do it!
From the search I've done I assume you just remove the old ones allow the brake fluid to go everywhere and then fit the braided hoses or should you drain the fluid first then remove...
Is it possible to modify the engine covers around the airbox so you can't see the engine or are you just leaving it open to the elements?!
A carbon NACA duct would look awesome as well.
