IMO go for the group N again, if its took all that s**t and hasonly jsut give up then go for it!
the stock clutch would prob hold up for a while, but for the extra £130 is it not worth having...

you need to check that the cable is routed properly.
even with new cables, if the track is not correct then it will still stick
move the cable around in differnt locations (differnt angles and paths to the TB)
see if that sorts your problem.

support the bottom of the engine with a jack (use a piece of wood too!!!)
loosen and remove the top centre nut on the mount
remove the 4 x 16mm nut where the mount meets the chasis
take the wight of the engine with the jack
remove the rest of the 16mm nuts that secure the engine support...
you can prob reuse the old gasket, just re fit with a splash of paste.
no need to cut the OEM too, liek you said support the rear by the jacking points, wip off the two 18mm lower shock bolts and raise the rear of the car,
once you get the rear high enough the whole system will side out of...
sounds fucked
and it may need unlocking, theres £100 stright away!
speak to AWT or pmurry for a remap. same affect and none of the s**t the above ecu brings
