I'm now the owner of a rather well used Trophy as after completing evo car of the year 2005 in November I decided to see about buying the Clio Trophy off Renault at the end of the test as I reckon there's never...
Yeah I read that, his son is 13 and gets let loose around castle combe in the trophy to teach him the importance of good road manors and how to control a car I'm guessing. A very very lucky boy.
Ah you're the lad who used to have the silver vts with anthracite wheels? I bought a power steering pump off you a few years back for my amazon green vts. What happened to the astra gsi you had?
LOL trophy geeks
I've just checked one of his blogs and its an 05 plate so it could well be one of the early cars so I doubt his is in the 300's
was 004 not the one that had loads of issue's, it was advertised on pistonheads with a new issue every week but no mention of the previous issues being resolved lol. I know it was atleast one of the press cars and it wasnt 001.
I think harry metcalfe's is in the 300's
It's hard not to love an old car really, a lot of the safety features added to new cars really take away the fun and feeling of speed away from you. I'm more of a 106 rallye person myself, no power steering, abs, electic mirrors, windows, sunroof etc its just you and the car doing the work and...
You missed the point of it being a second car mate ;)
I think this has gone on too far, if you want to talk about williams and there greatness open up another thread instead of opening a can of worms on eachother its pointless and we're no further forward than we were 8 pages ago. Everyone...
I've just bought some Eibach camber bolts for the trophy aswell, what do people recommend for the front? 1 degree negative I'm thinking for fast road etc
The reason there isnt one is because non of them have reached the age of 16 yet.......lol!
Tbh I don't doubt the williams heroic status, it is no doubt a good car, I enjoyed having a blast with one before, who sadly got owned by the ph1 :) I'd love to own a williams one day though as I've...
Rs2's all the time mate, totally transformed my mates 260bhp yaris turbo, it used to spin its minge off on proxes he hated them, he switched to the rs2's and the car just gripped and went.
They're not so good in the wet but you shouldnt really risk driving like a t**t in the wet anyway :)
What's the best clutch to go for and where is cheapest to purchase it? I'm fitting a new engine soon and going to bang a new clutch in there while I'm on
Cheers
As soon as I saw you'd commented I thought....oh s**t :(
Jamsport are doing a deal which works out cheaper anyway mate but I was gormless and missed out. :p
I'll be very interested to see how it fairs up mate, I should have mine back on the road by the end of the month.
What setting are you running the whiteline on? I was thinking of medium?
nice cars but I think the clio will be around even stevens from 0-100, the longer legs of the turbo may have you after 100. Along some country roads the clio would be the better car
Has anyone got the above set up? I'm going to order the springs from Kam racing and I've just ordered my whiteline Rear ARB so hoping its all going to work well with the trophy's dampers
