Maybe so. But that wont happen here.
The RS1800 was s**t.
None of the renaultsport Clios are. They may differ slightly, but they're essentially the same car.
I believe that the only Clio that will hold it's value above the others will be the Trophy.
I think they will..... they have a bit of cult status among small groups of petrol heads but made no where near the impact of the Williams on the general public.
They weren't a limited edition and have essentially (in the eyes of joe bloggs) been superceded by the 182 Cup.
They'll...
lol. Fair point - That would be interesting! I think they look lovely - but they're about as fast as 1.4 Clio and have no mrakes to speak of. lol.
I have a 1972 Triumph TR6. A proper classic. And when it was on the road I spent more time fixing the f**king thing than driving it. lol.
Older...
Clio is technically closer to a 1.1 than a 1.2 (1149cc)... so it doesn't do bad with 75 bhp, considering it's losing 750cc's to the FIAT.
My missus had one. It was annoyingly slow to get going but a f**king hoot once you'd got it wound up. Pretty good for what it was.
I wasn't having a go at you mate..... more trying to make the point that it's down to individual cars as to which is quicker in my experience. The 172 Cups generally seem the quicker car, but not always.
As I said, I overtook one @ silly speeds (think it's the 8krpm limiter that does it -...
Sorry Edde but that throttle business is a royal load of b****cks. Does the Cup suffer from having fbw? Does it make it slower? Less easy to adjust on the throttle? I'll let MarkCup/Jon r/ Chris n nic answer that on for you ;)
And a few simple mods has seen my 172 comfortably pass a 172...
Right, now we've established that you have a Phase 1 Renault Clio Renaultsport 172 and not a Phase 2 Renault Clio Renaultsport 172 Cup I can state with confidence that if your car revs to 8000 rpm then it is most definitely not standard and is probably fitted with an Rsport/Group N ECU.
On a scale of 1 to 10.... that's just f**king sad. lol. Clio Cafe Del Mar sounds like some kind of special edition. LOL!
Why not a picture on your wall? Or a photo in your wallet? Or on your phone?
I might get a 'St Peters School fire escape' sticker to remind me of where I lost my...
The inlet matching is less effective on late 172's/182's due to them using the RS manifold. I had an RS manifold in mine and was underwhelmed by the difference it made on it's own.
lol.... It's top secret. South of the Watford gap. Basically people out for a steady drive and saying 'Fack' and 'Kant' a lot.
If you open your eyes it's not difficult to work out!!
Looks ace!
Theres a definite change at 5k rpm when the cams begin to reach max VE.... The engine revs faster, pulls harder. Doesn't matter what you want to call it, that's totally subjective, but the bottom line is it happens on all 172's/182's.
