an idle speed control moter operates the throttle butterfly directly(part of the throttle body) this type is on your rt clio.an idle valve is a separate air bypass valve which controls a regulated amount of air that is bypassed past the throttle body.eg,16v clio, rsi clio,8v lagunas etc
doesnt this happen when the paint gets contaminated.dont they put cars in a sort of oven after to dry and harden the paint.theres an article about this in either the latest revs or fast car magazine i think.
the gearbox would fit due to the 1.8 and 2.0 have the same block(near enough anyway) just different heads.poss would give the car a bit more acceleration though.should be able to find out if the box is for a 16v if you get me the full gearbox numbers(on a metal tag bolted to the casing on the...
did one of these recalls for the first time the other day.recall doesnt say whats supposed to be wrong with the michelin tyres though.i dont like the continental tyres they wear out far to quickly and they dont have much grip.
i would check your clutch pedal and cable.inspect the colour of your gear oil(presence of metal particles is not good) and change the oil.we use esso trx 75/80.
a tappet should be able to hold its oil for quite a while after it was last used.run it and then strip it the next day.when you get the tappets out try squeezing them.the good tappets wont squeeze together because they still contain oil.any tappet that is easily squeezed together has leaked its...
cups are still avaliable but production finishes this year.we got a brand new one delivered this week.this latest one weve got is in silver as well.didnt know about that new ec rule though.ill ask about that one at work.
Reverse doesnt have a syncro so any crunching in reverse is not down to the gearbox.excessive crunching in reverse could be due to idle speed to high or the clutch not clearing properley.an occasional crunch is nothing really to worry about though.
if the noise is that bad then it should be covered under warranty.Engine/gearbox mount definatly covered some parts of the exhaust may not be covered after the vehicle is over 12 months old(but there would be a contribution from renault anyway i should think)
Mainly poor gear change(crunches or difficulty selecting gears) and excessive noise(a low rumble noise like a wheel bearing would indicate diff bearing wear and a more high pitch whine would indicate worn gears or shaft bearings).Whats up with yours?
A new throttle body is around £160 so a second hand one should be a lot cheaper than that.Make sure they give you a throttle body of a 1.4 single point injection energy engine. You could get a new temp sensor from any decent moter factors cheap enough.Any renault breakers should have loads of 1.4...
do a resistance check with a multimeter between the battery positive and the large positive alternator terminal(with everything switched off).what do you get?(in ohms).check for charging voltage at the large alternator terminal? do a resistance check between the engine block and the battery...
the system bleeds itself.all you have to do is turn the steering lock to lock a few times to allow the fluid to pass through the rack.the pumps are quite noisy anyway but if its really bad then its either low on fluid or your pumps knackered.
yes i thought that about my exhaust.sounded like it was blowing from the manifold/cat area but when i checked it i couldnt find anything wrong, must be a characteristic of the engine/car.
i think on your 16v the potentiometer(red unit attached to throtle body) and the idle valve(a small cylinder shaped unit in a bracket on the throttle body with 2 rubber pipes of it) are avaliable separatly.the idle valve is probably about a £100.any screws on the throttle body are preset at...
