So, it's been fully put back together and tested for about a week now..
It failed the MOT on emissions last Monday, but that's all sorted and it's going back in first thing in the morning. Insurance is sorted, and tax will be done as soon as it's MOT'd. :cool:

My 16v XSi went failed it's MOT today on emissions. It's got Kent PT51 cams on a standard map incase that makes any difference.
Fast idle:
CO 0.31% (0.3 is a pass) - Fail.

You're obviously revving it too hard..
I used to get 400+ miles to £40 in mine. Regular driving. Nearer 450 on the motorways, and neither of those, was I driving particularly gently.
You've got a few options.
First WD40 and wire brush. Then try the socket again..
Next, heat with a blowtorch. Might work.
Last, angle grinder. Nothing argues.
