Now THAT is a farking SLOW car. I had to drive my mums for ages. I nearly died i got so bored of the peice of sh1t. My 1.3 turbodiesel company van is faster.
as for the 1.6 8v vs the 1.4 16v
The 1.4 is a better engine, it's got a little more power and uses less fuel. 16v is an important engine...
Don't know if you can view projects as a forum user. But this is an example of a sorted F7R (williams block) turbo. http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=324019
This engine will be good for 300 odd bhp, at which point the gearbox would very quickly remove all it's toys from the pram...
the 480 engine has an awful output as standard so work is needed to get an exciting power figure. Swings and roundabouts tbh.
Personally I'm not sure I rate either option, but done well, both would be schweet
It's the hot metal head that causes the solidification surely?
The head and block (at full engine temp) will be a little hotter than the coolant.
It's a bit of a stab in the dark as most engines reach different max operating temps......i'd of thought?
16v means better flow into the chamber. But then you get more inefficiencies in the engine as you have 2 cams and 16 valve springs to contend with. If you have ever tried turning cams in a head it farking hard work.
iirc the differences between the two are made less when you introduce BOOST...
^^K series fail. They are so so so good as poping HGs
I wouldnt touch it tbh. Sounds like a recipe for coolant failure. Rad blockage, water pump gunging up. Don't like the sound of it.
About as effective as egg white probably.
On a serious note. I don't really know much about diesels, but a lack of power and a splutter, or no power at all below certain RPM normally points to a Lambda sensor.
Age and mileage?
yes remove it definitely. The map will be spot on for the track, you'll get a better dyno reading and there will be nothing wrong with the map for road use with the light in
if your talking about valvers, then get a full williams F7R engine. They have a bigger port head, but tbh it'd be a waste of time just running the head on the F7P block.
I have brought this up a couple of times.
From what I have found on here:
1) you need a manual column too.
2) if you are searching for the "quickest" rack, some people say it's the 1.4 . Other people say that the quickest one was the MK1 Cup race rack (RARE AS!). Others will tell you the cup...
Hold up a min here.
MK2 Ph1
and MK2 PH2
have completely different headlight clusters. I should imagine if you want Ph1 lights on a Ph3 (campus) or Ph2 then you need, bonnet, bumper and wings.
Am I missing something?
wiring would be different too. There is a wiring difference between Ph1 sport...
MK1 sales FTL :(:(
I need to sell my valver to pay for my AGU 20v block. It's not a good financial climate to be selling old hot hatches.
Hopefully i'll find it easier and cheaper to find a white MK1 shell
Can't wait to see the cup car 20v. PLEASE start a project thread when it gets off the...
