Ktec is £351.33 and GDI is 370.13
My money is still on the Ktec. But I would go for a yozza if they made a stealth that was slightly louder and £100 cheaper than mentioned above
At one point while doing mine, I was lying under the car on my back with one hand/foot on each of the four corners of the subframe trying to manouver it into position.
Good for a laugh.
D1cky - I made a lil parts list here. Doing it for <250 just means getting a good price on the manifold. Then...
paul, we've never met, and i've never seen your car in the flesh.
But after the past few months on this forum, I feel know both of your tailpipes intimately.
why is this?
;)
Do a search and I'm sure you'll come up with it. One member in particular was very annoyed.
The stiffer dogbone bush caused damage to the thread on the soft cast ally gearbox bell housing where the dogbone attaches. He put up pics showing this.
Unless you can't tollerate the movement, and have...
iirc the only "uprated" one they do is te dogbone. There is a LOT of debate about those mounts.
A couple of members have had them ruin the threads where they attach to the Gbox.
It's just like for like replacement if your still using the standard 172 manifold.
The old pipe unbolts (if it's rusted, grind it off) and then refit with new bolts if possible as they rust.
A manifold to cat section fitting kit can be bought from renault or ktec and i would recommend it if...
Technically incorrect. Direct line (don't know if they still do) will do a policy in a parents name for a child and the named driver can be listed as the "main user" of the car.
Agreed tho, don't get named driver "occasional user" sort of status, not wise.
according to parkers.co.uk the 1.4 is available without PAS, so perhaps that's the one to go for.
That's the one i'll be going for (but i have to get the car first :))
there is a guide for doing it by dropping the subframe and removing the Gbox via the N/S wheel arch. Personally, I'd say 5 hours is unrealistic for a first attempt on the car.
Following on from fitting my 182 manifold and decat - guide
.....my MOT came up. Looking at the 172 cat, I decided it could be adapted, some people on here agreed too.
This Pic show the 182 manifold and decat, followed by the 172 manifold and cat.
I got bored of trying to find someone to...
^^ you'll quickly learn that standard renault exhaust systems are about as poor as they come. They rust, fall apart, and fall off the car taking the rear bumper with them as they go.
If it's just an exhaust rattle, that's very common on standard 1*2 exhausts.
Martin_89:
Well done mate! did you...
I asked that bloody question soooo many times. also asked what the "quickest" rack is.
I got the impression that the cup rack was the quickest - but the cup rack was the same part as fitted to the 1.4
I reckon it'll need a manual column.
