You can get the old 150bhp 2000 era estates for £1500 these days
I quite fancy the V6 for the extra grunt though - and the stupid amount of toys you get on them.
It's most likely getting airbag's and 19/20" audi/porsche wheels - I fancy a bit of a euro **** for my daily car that I can just...

Probably worth a thread on it's own - this gearbox discussion :p
James - glad it's not the box and just the clutch. Weird for it to fail though as it was nearly new. Matt given you a cause?
Are you running...
I know!!!
Been looking at Passat 2.5V6 TDi Estates
Full leather, heated seats, auto box - etc.. £1600-2k
Think that will be my winter purchase and a trailer - then I can take all my tools etc.. in the boot
Yeah - I'm not sure whether to keep it routed to the drivers side of the engine which is a much more direct line - or go to the passenger side and along the bulk head behind the heat shield
Will see what works out best. Either way I'm gonna be keeping some spare tube and pneumatic connectors...
Had a few phone calls with K-Tec over the last few days - managed to order some poly Oreca race door cards
Saw them at the weekend in James (BigAsh) car and they look spot on for what I need.
Unfortunately K-Tec don't have any in stock and have had to order them - with a 2 week wait. I've...

Yeah I'm pretty sure being able to actually get a gear is higher on his priorities than squeezing a few extra mph out of each gear lol
I run 205/50/15 tyres on mine and the rear rubs ever so slightly on the arch liners - doesn't bother me - it's only plastic :D
Glad it's back on the road - I'm hoping to get over to Blyton at some point this year. One of my mates is there doing it on Monday in his Clio
Fair enough - I definitely need an oil cooler then lol
I guess I can keep the sandwich plate I have now with sensors in and then fit another thermostatic sandwich plate for the oil cooler then the filter
There's plenty of room under the airbox
Been thinking about the oil temp thing last night - it was reading 130-140 which is insanely high - but the temperature sensor is in a sandwich plate before the oil filter - so that's the red hot oil coming from the block isn't it?
When that hits the oil in the sump it should cool down a bit...
Yeah I'm really glad I had it at Anglesey - it was pushing 30c and the car was struggling to be honest
It's an OMP cage that's had the rear modified with an extra diagonal and harness bars - it's bombers old cage :D
Thanks for all the nice comments guys :)
Awesome looking build
I need to get an oil cooler fitted to mine now as it's getting REALLY hot on track - think I'll be copying your mounting idea ;)
Hahah nonsense! Mine sat in traffic all weekend - 32c and it never overheated once
And the m8 bolts hammered through it work a treat for...
Been a while since I've updated this
Car went to the bodyshop for a week to get the interior sprayed - I cut the costs of the work by doing 90% of the prep-work myself. Also took the doors and boot off etc...
Got it back on Tuesday and to say I was happy with the finish is an understatement -...

Did make me laugh when he said that he broke a mirror just before all this started - told him to get a rabbits foot on his keyring and some heather in the grill lol
Gutted for you mate - With the amount...
That's the problem with the systems that are built with only 1 exit from silencer and 2 tail pipes - only one does anything LOL
The proper 182 system has 2 exits from the silencer from what I've seen so even flow out of both
So to sum this thread up - student buys 182 with very low mileage cheaply, ignores the cambelt being 2 years past it's "change-by" date - fits part worn tyres and doesn't have any money to properly maintain it
That's the end of a nice car then lol
Exactly!
Mine cost me £2,500 two years ago with a recent cambelt and dephaser change, 2 full oil changes a year for the past 4 years and a book of service history that I could kill someone with - it's about 3" thick lol
It's passed every MOT without any work, it's never broken down, and...
-2mm camber? Don't you mean -2degrees?
Also I really wouldn't worry too much about setting the height - I set my billies up how I wanted them and a week later they'd settled a further 10mm.
Get them somewhere near and drive it for a while then set the height.
Why not get it corner...
Why are people so obsessed with mileage
That thing has barely moved - the engine will had done lots of very short journeys which is about the worst thing you can do with them - and EVERYTHING will be seized
My 172 Cup had done over 85k when I got it - and has now done 115k. It made 194bhp...

Great writeup - brilliant video. Love your driving, it's just the right amount of aggressive lol
It takes a lot I think on your first day to go out and attack like that on track - superb!
The car looks...
