Take the plastic trim off around the steering column - the top bit just pops off and the bottom bit is held on with 3 x t20 torx screws
I guarantee that one of the wires off the back of the ignition will have been cut and some cables going off it to the starter button
You'll just have to...
I'd love a BTB - but very heavy, very expensive and I don't like stealth exhausts lol
I've bitten the bullet and booked her in tomorrow lunch time to have another silencer fitted to the middle pipe
I know it probably makes the oreca worth less if I ever sell it - but I love the fit of the...
LOL I bought a set of Spax RSX fully adjustable shocks and springs for my 106 for £75 from halfords. They had ordered them in for a customer who never collected them!
To be fair they were on my car for 4 years and over 80k of daily use! Other than the rear adjustors seizing because they got...
I'm kinda considering buying this
http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/exhaust-silencers/custom-chrome-racing-stainless-steel-repackable-silencer
I can chop the exhaust myself and slot that on with some o-clamps.
It's re-packable so in a year when it's too loud again I can just open it up...
I dunno - the 172 cup fitment ones were £899
Now they're £629
Considering Billies are now around £800, and KW V1's are around £800 - I think the original pricing of the Spax was insane. No way are they worth £100 more than KW's
They're maybe a bit too cheap now but definitely closer to what...
I could get a silencer made that would clamp on rather than weld on - and then keep a straight through pipe that can be swapped back in - bit pointless though as it's way too loud straight through
I had a K-Tec stealth on my car but after fitting the ITB's and the car getting a tendency to spit flames I wanted something that actually stuck out - so I swapped it for an Oreca Group N system (2.25")
I had a 200 cell sports cat made up for it and all was well - passes emissions tests for MOT...
Could be the inner tie rods - those have got some play on mine and apparently need changing every 70 or 80k
If you jack it up on one side and try to pull/push the wheel around does it have movement with your hands at 3 and 9 - if so I'd bet the inner tie rods are shot
Could be related mate - fuel starvation will make the engine run lean. Could have popped the headgasket
Gonna be awesome when it's rebuilt though - there aren't many rallye's left in this condition!
The whole "longer trumpets make better power" is a very sore point amongst some tuners/mappers anyway - I've seen pretty good evidence (back to back tests on a car) that proved you can make just as much power/torque on shorter trumpets with a good map - but then people like 519 have said the...
It's not entirely a must
You must remove the standard slam panel to run 90mm trumpets, and like everyone else has said 45/60's will lose you torque
But one lad on here had a bar made that went across where the standard slam panel is meant to go but further forward and with a standard bonnet...
Nah I've ordered some Oreca ones from K-Tec racing
They sit out a bit from the door so hoping I can just cut some holes in for the window switches and probably a hole for speakers too as I occasionally do long drive to track days and a bit of music is nice lol
What did you do with the...
They look awesome!!!
How did you wire the electric window switches up? I've got to do that on my track car this weekend and have bought the same switches as you LOL
Aye - just seen that one lad had ford transit ones - look the same as old fiestas and stuff
They seem to fit flush!
I'm now just reading through all the threads with people having no idea how to wire them in - lol
I suck at electrics too :(
I've had to ditch the standard door cards in my Clio to make room for the roll cage door bars - so I've ordered some oreca race cards
My plan is to keep the electric windows - as it's also a weekend toy and will be seeing a euro trip again soon - but I don't want to use the standard switches...
The other end connects to the master cylinder which is on the drivers side below the brake reservoir
Easiest way is to jack the front drivers side up and there is a plastic flap you can open and get your hand in to the pipe - it's a bit tight but do-able
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Fecking hell!!
I had a big chunk of clutch let go in an old 309 and it made a nice big hole in the side of the gearbox :(
Just had an update call from K-Tec saying the Oreca door cards are ordered and will be with them next week - so should be able to get them to me a few days before Donington :D
Excellent service from Martin/Sean at K-Tec as usual!
The pneumatic fittings all arrived this week and pipe - and a...

Wow - you did a proper job of that clutch!!!
I must be lucky - I'm terrible at heel+toe and my clutch is 60k old lol
Can't believe you did those sessions at anglesey with those bits of metal rattling...
Looks awesome on track mate - well suited to it
I miss pinnochios.. really must try and get back this year
I did a 9.40 when my car was standard a few years back. Hoping for mid 8's this year when I make it back :D
That being said you have to have a special kind of stupidity to push on...
