Selling a load of my camera gear to make way for some new goodies
Canon 70-200 f4/L USM
I can't put into words how good a lens this is for motorsport/panning etc..
I'm only selling as I'm upgrading to the f2.8
The lens is absolutely mint...
Yeah that's one of the reasons I've not gone for R888's or similar this year, the guy who set my car up said the Bilsteins would be waaaay too soft
I could realistically go out and buy spax coilovers and R888's in a couple of months but then probably fit one track day in before christmas.
OR I...
LOL mine failed, yours failed, chris's failed, 4 more people I've spoken to have failed and Dan say's it's a common fault
They're the worst mod I've fitted to my car - with how much it's costing to get them refurbed and how little they're worth second hand mine may very well be going in t'bin ;)
They've done 5,000 miles but are older than 12 months I think - it just doesn't move much as it sits in the garage 90% of the time
Sorry about not being descriptive enough before - I'm useless at typing stuff up, always doing 8 different things and not concentrating lol
I hadn't thought...
Nah - someone suggested practicing trail braking - to keep the weight loaded up on the front tyres right up to the apex - so I started doing that (previously I was braking on the straight, turning in, then powering out) - it did help stop the understeer but it's very hard on the DS2500's and...
Dave - i'll let you know. At this point in time I'd be quite happy to throw my keys at someone and see what they think, especially someone who's better at driving than me lol
I'm supposed to be doing a day at Blyton later this year and James (bigash) is gonna pop down
Mark has been in my car...
I can get lift off oversteer yeah - it's handy at anglesey to turn quicker round the hairpin LOL, but you have to provoke it
Understeer I get all the time even on the road
Also there is a big difference between oversteer and lift-off-oversteer Nick. If I said I had both oversteer and understeer...
Had tuition, lost lots of understeer from braking later, turning in later, heel+toeing. But the car still understeers
Even the guy giving me tuition said the tyres were s**t ;)
It at MINIMUM needs better tyres, but the bilsteins are getting binned for spax or KW V2's or AST's (depending on...
That's why I end up having it every time I go in - because a normal burger is like £7.99 and the challenge burger is epic even if you only eat half of it
Matt - how long did it take you to finish?
Hate my B14's - really hate them
Too soft for track use, can't adjust the damping and after only 6k the bearings are shot and it's gonna cost £200 to get them repaired
For £860 suspension - they're s**te
Spax next for me unless I find the money for KW V2's or AST's
Glad I'm not the only one to have these problems
I'm not happy with the brakes and I'm REALLY not happy with the bilsteins - so I'm gonna start stripping the car down in a couple of months and get it sorted for next year :D
I'd really appreciate that mate - might even chuck you the keys for a few laps and see how you think it compares to yours. I've been trying to sort the understeer on mine for ages now :(
What would you recommend mate? I'm starting to see that the DS2500+Brembo HC setup aint really worth the...
I could go up a bit at the front - it's running toe out on the front and -2degrees of camber
I need to book a day at Blyton to try a few different settings :)
I can't lower the rear any more as it's as low as it will go on the adjustors
I could take them out which would drop it another 20mm but looking at Feirny's pictures above that might be a bit too low lol
I've got the rear ARB set to the stiffest possible setting.
I haven't noticed the back have got softer but I do think the whole bilsteing setup is too soft - but I can't alter it as it isn't adjustable lol
It's another reason why I want to swap for Spax. My Bilstein's are only just a year...
I've got the fog lights removed and no arch liners - but I haven't got a directed brake cooling pipe
Tyres will definitely be first on my list, then cambelt and the gearbox is coming out for a rebuild and diff
With a diff and R888's I probably won't need to upgrade the brakes as I'll be able...
When I finished it the guy told me the burger is 5,000 calories :|
The trick is to eat FAST. It doesn't look a lot but trust me after 10mins when the burgers have gone cold your jaw hurts so much
Remove bread bun, cut the meat up and eat as quickly as humanly possible, then whack all the chips...
Awesome pics! thanks mate!
Update
The bilsteins after less than 5k use seem to need rebuilding, also needs a cambelt, my tyres are f*cked and the brakes are boiled.
Driving on track is just really pissing me off as the car feels so unfinished. Tyres are awful, can't get the 200bhp down at...
I've done that challenge at the one in Lincoln. Took me 4 attempts but I did it.
Got the certificate and everything
I am NEVER eating one again lol, I thought I was dying for 2 days afterwards
