You mean bedded in I think mate, when the disc and pad have a better key with each other. Go for a drive and do some left foot braking if its fronts or rears you can hold the handbrake on a bit.
They probably asked wether you had an SMI or a TRW rack in which case you will have to get under the car to check. While your under there, take off the wheel, pull back the gator and give it a quick measure. Saves any bother.
Buy a fully built shifter like I did if your worried, all you need to do is remove a circlip and cut a small recess in the housing for the stiff shift. His instructions make it seem a lot harder than it is.
Seems alright for the price, my local autosmart guy is amazingly cheap though. I had 5 litre of tardis, g101, actimousse XL , 4 spray bottles and 2 detailing brushes for £35.
He gave me some samples of shampoo and polishes for free too and a berry blast, I was well impressed. I love the G101...
I'm looking for a good product to clean and protect my upper and lower grill and foglight surrounds. I'm not sure if it can be done in one step or might need more.
Currently I use aerospace protectant but it doesn't give the best results unless you can wipe it off. (Excuse my lazyness) Its too...
Loads have done them on here mate, its a serviceable item.
Depends how much you want to struggle tbh, anything from mole grips, stilson's, cut down spanner will suffice.
Renault has a special 32mm iirc spanner they they use but personally I prefer these \/ \/ \/ \/ but I can't remember what...
Bleed the brakes from the furthest away corner from the master cylinder first round to the clost incase there's some trapped air.
Some cars need to be bleed a specific way, I.e n/s/f first then clockwise. Have a google.
Does it have a v-shape to it?
Something similar to this?

8.8 will be fine although no strength of bolt will be ideal due to the distance it has to hang out. It should really have a sleive over the bolt to strengthen it up. I'm guessing your doing it for looks more than purpose though?
Top mount bearings, been built up wrong or rubbish quality coilovers. It's caused by the spring being twisted due to no rotational means and then jump's causing the 'twanging'
To answer your question. If you really want to take them off and check by hand then that's fine, it gives you a better feel for thing ( it wont always show up a noisy bearing, some times better to let it get worse) the nut is meant to be replaced but should be fine aslong as you keep an eye on...
This gun is quite good for the price, been good to me and comes with a spare battery.
The only thing that has bothered me is the larger size compared to other guns from the likes of Snap on but I can't complain tbh...
2 different makes I believe of SMI and TRW, what the differences are I couldn't say. Renault ask the question when ordering parts as their not sure what's fitted themselves half the time.
Some good progress. I will echo what others have said, the gearbox mount and hub setup looks questionable for strength. Neat idea on the hub for adjustability but cast metal doesn't take to being welded in high stress areas...even with the correct welding process of heating and annealing.
You...
Chip the cliosport steering racks aren't wet lubricated on the outside, in fact I can't think of any racks that are externally lubricated. Your seals have gone if there is any dampness inside that gator. There will be a small amount of grease on the splined part that the pinion meshes with but...
I'd have inner tie rods and possibly rack bushes added to that list depending on miles. Doing anything with the ARB then have both front wheels off the ground as it will be fighting against you if not. Your better having an impact gun for undoing top mounts and track rod ends and other than that...
Im not going to PM you as you won't reply but why do you use the Megane crank bolt over the Clio one Fred??
Yup the prices he gives are quality.
Im sure I was £45 for fronts and £36 for rears + postage iirc
