Going on the assumption there is no fluid leaks then crack out the rough emery to de glaze pads it won't touch them with fine.Flatten the pads then put the car in gear on axle stands and give the disks a good rub with emery too. That will get rid of any disks/pad worries unless there totally...
Having not worked on a PH1 I'm not 100% on the setup but I know its a mechanical TB with the ICV on the manifold so I can't see it being the TB tbh unless the TPS is playing up but that will usually give high idle, revving up and down etc. Have you cleaned out the ICV and associated pipework...
Inner or outer ARB bushes aren't going to give much steering vagueness unless they are missing really. They will give a knock/screech or some audible noise when fecked and obviously excess play.
Having done it to my car the other day it is possible with a good heat gun, piece of softish plastic and hammer, have your hand on the outside of the quarter panel to absorb the hammer blows like you would with a dolly. Work your way round the arch while you get someone to hold said plastic to...
Basically if your timing tools are going in fairly easy and the crank timing pin isn't in the crank web balancing holes, there's 4 points iirc that pin 'CAN' go in but obviously one to get it right.
They don't have marks as such, the crank or cams don't have a woodruff key/timing marks on the pulleys on the F4R in the clio's.
Basic instructions.
1. Time the engine via crank pin and cam horseshoe with the pulleys slack.
2. Remove old, fit new with tensioner etc and tension belt.
3. Nip up...
Airbox off won't make any difference. If you done the pulleys upto the correct torque then I don't see how you done it without the pulley locking tool and not bucking your horseshoe.
Have you timed it, removed tools, spun it a few times, put in tools again? Also made sure your not in the crank...
It's been a pleasure, 5 mins has saved me around £400 in bad choices. I thought t1'rs for sheer cheapness and the car isnt really needing tyres, I just want a full set of whatever brand. I had some toyo's many moons ago on my corsa sport and thought they were good back then on a dry day minus...
Right that's settled then, 10-15mm spacers, 2deg ish camber, sportlines and 195/45/16 t1'r's or them evo 1's are cheap too. They have a similar tread design to conti sport's, do you rate them for road and a 7/10ths track day?
Thought it might be, I'm only fitting sportlines and want to keep all the arch liners if poss. Your rubbings probably due to you having 20mm spacers you not think?? Anywhere near the chassis leg on full lock?
What camber, spacers, ride height, tyres do you run with your turinis? Do you get rubbing?
I think the struts are pretty similar tbh mate except the bolt spacing.
Good work mate, looking good. I'm just away to undertake the same work on my cup I just bought with the addition of a full service, full front end rebush and full fat interior. I went for some Sportlines but I'm very tempted to sell them on and just go with Cooksports, they sit a nice bit lower...
Yeah in a way but you don't get extended sessions like them lads do. Not door to door racing no, more of a sprint on a circuit. I'll give it a go if it falls at time home.
Thanks for the reply. Yeah it's just regular 172 wheels fitted unfortunately, I'm unsure of offset as I have never looked tbh. I'm pretty sure ill need at least 5mm spacers but ill give it a go as spacers aren't hard to find at short notice.
