I always used bilstein on my 205's and never had a problem, they just seem to be more track focused for the clio so I'm not sure what they would be like on the fast bumpy lanes. Belgium is a better comparison but still a lot smoother than the potholed crap we have to contend with over here.
I need to decide for my rally build too as I'm not a fan of my koni dampers and eibach springs on the lanes even though I have found them really good on the Sprint and Hillclimb tracks.
I also looked at B14 dampers but I'm not sure how they would cope on the lanes.
I've got a while before I need...
Went to look at it today, just after some extra info if possible as it's got a cs tax disc holder. Is the former keeper still on here, apparently came from swindon 12+ months ago.
Hopefully someone knows it.
AD08R are a MSA list 1B tyre, only the original AD08 is a list 1A and no longer available.
Considering they are in the same category, the AD08R is nowhere near as good as the A048
Glan y Gors is waaaaay better than Warrington, and a better surface than wigan. A bit narrower hilly and more technical with a few tighter corners and off camber bits too to make it interesting.
A good flat track is Rednal Karting near Oswestry
It's been a thrashed to the max this year doing sprints and hillclimbs so I'm not surprised.
It managed to get me second overall in the Chester and Liverpool Speed championship and 3rd overall in the Longton and district sprint and hillclimb championship so can't complain really.
I've got my 172 cup sprint and hillclimb but I'm reshelling it into my spare 172 and building a new rally car.
Like many others on here though it's not my daily driver, I've got an 08 Vectra cdti for work and towing the clio.
Height can also depend on how firm your spring and damper setup is too.
Low and too soft can cause problems, especially if you start hitting the bumpstops.
I do Sprints round there, it's a great fun track and I also codrove last Sunday on a rally there. I'm in car 7
Three sisters circuit 12.10.2014 part 1:
Someone that lives on a farm that swerved to avoid a fox - that's a first!!
Everyone I know would have aimed for it!
Would have fixed that and you could pick up most parts on here!
Depends on what class you are intending to run in.
I ran a Gripper different with 4.6cwp this year and it was great, although I could have done with more power as my engine is standard, original and done 173k miles!
I ran in road modified class 1B
I've just pulled some tidy looking speakers out of the front of my clio, I will have a look at what they are but they are bigger than the standard size so have 3 new screw holes but still fit behind the original speaker grill.
I am going to use a clio 172 shell to build my next car. Basically I want to put the engine and running gear etc from my Cup into this shell, the question is, is there a big difference in the wiring looms or does the normal 172 just have the extra bits in it for the aircon, abs etc or do I just...
Ive been doing sprints and hillclimbs for the last 2 years so smooth tarmac and it's got koni adjustable dampers and eibach sportline springs. Too firm and twitchy for road rallies.
My cup did 3 rough road rallies on standard cup suspension and I found that pretty good, just make sure there is a good sump guard and protect the fuel and brake lines as I tried to rip mine off.
From a road rally point of view I have used diesel car springs on a few of my previous cars and it's a reasonable option.
I haven't done it with a clio but would probably work like the rest.
Never bothered with anything other than standard Valeo clutches on any of my cars (road and stage rally, sprint, hillclimb, autograss, rallycross etc in clios 205's, mg Maestro, astras) and never had any issues so unless you are running mega power, save your money.
