my clio 172 cup/ turbo pics also

I'll be amazed if it's a genuine garrett mate, at least that intercooler looks a decent size but you might struggle to squeeze it between the front support bar and the bumper undertray. When you get some more pics up I'll be able to give you a few pointers on whats good/bad/missing :)

K-tec Gearbox Mount Problem - See post No112

Re: K-tec Gearbox Mount Problem Have you tried taking the weight of the gearbox with a trolley jack, the removing the upper section of the gearbox mount (the OE renault bracket that bolts to the inner wing) then place the ktec mount on it and see how far it goes on, at least that way you'll...

K-tec Gearbox Mount Problem - See post No112

Re: K-tec Gearbox Mount Problem Interestingly on there web page it doesn't actually show the lower black washer? You seem to have them the right way round and like you say the actual metal bush in the rubber mount is tapered on one side so that the top hat washer fits in. I honestly can't...

K-tec Gearbox Mount Problem - See post No112

Re: K-tec Gearbox Mount Problem The first black washer you put on needs to be pressed all the way down, it'll be really tight but with a bit of brute force you should be able to get it all the way down. Then simply bolt it all to the engine mount and offer it up. Once it's all lined up...

Prince Bishops car park meet 26th March

Right then Big G, I feel another pound challenge coming on LOL. Unfortunatley the beast is still in bits, everything is finally here except the intercooler as it's away getting some funky heat dispersant treatment. However I still haven't started to plumb in my new ECU so I'm gonna have to...

    gearbox reinforcement?

I also looked at these recently as well and wondered if it would work. I figured if putting a lot of torque through your box maybe there was a little caseing flex causing the shafts to seperate. I phoned CTS and quizzed them about how to strengthen them and they simpy said when I blow a box up...

    Throttle body diameter...

you sure? as my samco hose used on my turbo conversion wasw 76mm as they don't do a 73mm. Ive got both TB's infront of me and have literally just taken those measurements. Must of been a tight squeeze :)

    Gearbox Removal

You don't need to take the engine out mate. Some people say you can remove it by lowering the passenger side of the sub frame, I normally just take the sub frame off.

Does a 197 or 200 engine fit in a 182, and if not why not?

If you do a search mate you'll find that the wild overlap is too much for the stock ECU, however you could try Ktec to see if their Gen 90 will run it as there using it for ll the boosted/itb conversions

Does a 197 or 200 engine fit in a 182, and if not why not?

The amount of fabrication that went into Scoffs VAG gearbox conversion is more than I could do. I have looked at loads of renault/volvo gearboxes to see what would be a feasible option, probably the best out of the lot would be the m56 used on T5's as theres some mega powered ones running...

Does a 197 or 200 engine fit in a 182, and if not why not?

Jord I've been helping Andy with it, it was actually my idea to put the head onto a stock block and I gave him a spare block I had. His initial plan was to use a complete F4RT engine and machine the F4RT block to accept the jc5 box.

Does a 197 or 200 engine fit in a 182, and if not why not?

Sounds good mate :) Thats what will be running my new turbo conversion in the next month or so, can't wait.

Does a 197 or 200 engine fit in a 182, and if not why not?

It's all about the boost! This could be a great conversion for someone with a bit of mechanical know how. The twin scroll turbo off the meg would give great low down instant power you could even route your intercooler pipework over the top of the engine the same as a 225, obviously you'd have...

Does a 197 or 200 engine fit in a 182, and if not why not?

It's not as easy as that, as they run a different cambelt set up. Besides why not just fit the megane 225 head complete with turbo etc....

Does a 197 or 200 engine fit in a 182, and if not why not?

It's an interesting one this, if you look at the photos of the bottom ends between both a 182 and a 197 engine you can clearly see that they run a different setup with regards to the alternator/water pump/power steering. The 197 block looks Identical to the megane 225 F4RT block, however if...

    Gearbox problems

Who has had problems with their gearboxes and what was up with them? Basically I've already blown a box up, so I've been in touch with gearboxman regarding upgrades and an LSD. He asked what went in my last box to which I admitted that I didn't look and had just gave it away. So I'm going to...

    fitting a BOOST gauge

Realistically you only have two pressure sources in the engine bay. One is at the compressor housing, but you need to remove a grub screw and fit a brass hose connector. Both me and DMS used this source to connect to the boost controller solenoid. The other is on the inlet manifold. From this...

    fitting a BOOST gauge

Mate just fit a T piece and tap off a new vacuum feed to your new boost gauge. At the end of the day it's only vac lines on my feed from the inlet manifold I had the FPR, dumpvalve and boost controler/gauge all running without any problems. Or swap out your boostcontroller for something with a...
