I assume it's the Aux belt?
Mainly only happens at night when I've got my lights on even more so when the blowers on.
It will pretty much always screech for a couple of seconds upon start up no matter the time of day but at night it does it sometimes when doing along also notable when changing...
Cheers I think they have slightly smaller tanks.
And all the miles have been short trips and all around towns like London, Wimbledon etc.. hopefully going to get to test it's MPG on fast moving roads next month when I'm doing a 438 mile round trip to Torquay (Sp?) and back on the same day.
I'm trying a MPG test, I put £20 worth of fuel in from near empty according to this http://www.robinwhite.fsnet.co.uk/conv/mpg.htm?miles=20&litres=2&Submit2=Calculate so far I've got 47.1mpg out of it I was wondering how far can I go with the petrol light on. It's a Clio 1.4 mk1 phase 2
Just...
Turtle Wax Interior Cleaner removed paint from my back seats it also got my Dads Mitshi with white seats looking respectable.
About fiver from halfrauds spray it on it's a foam leave for about 5 mins and put some elbow into it with the brush on the top. almost instantly dries and smells nice too.
KK how good are the standard alarms, might sound silly but I can't actually set the bugger off.
I can arm the car and leave the windows open it'll then go off after about a couple of minitues, I arm it and open the car from the inside via sticking hand through open window and it will go off.
I...
Hello guys sorry about my thread I was just really really p!ssed off IMHO quite rightly too as he gave me such a dirty look and spoke to me like I was retarded just really rubbed me up the wrong way.
I'm not out to annoy anyone I have been asked to turn my music down by a few folk whilst my...
I doubt it he's about 60 just a busy body, can hardly raise an arm let alone damage a car lol
But nah it's not ridiculously load either and I had all my windows up bar mine which was down half way.
Just pulled up with my sub on etc.. get out the car and he goes are you deaf mate, I replyed no why and he starts giving me a load of mouth which I gratfully return.
End of story is he wants to contact the concil about me being a noisy nebiour, can they actually do anything about me pulling...
I'm no mechanic but I doubt it'll be the clutch or anything as serious as that mate.
Does sound like a wheel bearing to me.
Could be wheels need balancing what speed does it do it at/
Reverse it down to Renault.
Sorry mate not helping I'm currently suffering the same problem as you so you got to just see the funny side of stuff like that, could be balancing, wheel bearing or track rod end?
Does it do it when the wheel is in all positions; straight, right or left?
Just an update, I took it back to the garage today and spoke to another lad there he went out of his way to help me diagnoised my dodgy wheel bearing and put my tracking right I didn't even have to show him my recept, I guess it's just down to who you get "serving" you and not the garage in general.
I thought I'd ask you lot as your far more qualified than the work experience boy who "fixed" my car today.
Heres the symtoms
1. Groaning/humming noise when I turn the wheel to the left above say 20mph
Does it only when I turn the wheel left, stops when I go 100% straight or right.
2...
I'm pissed off mate, the only reason I had the work done was to cure a horrible gridning noise even after all this it hasn't been cured but the steering gator and track rod ends was needed. I'll go back down there tommorow and tell them to sort my tracking out properly I'll then go elsewhere for...
I know mate I can get them done cheaper elsewhere as I probably wont be going back to this garage again but my concern at the moment is my steering wheel after paying £25 for wheel alignment etc..
Basically today I've had the following done
Track rod end
Steering Gator
Rear left tyre
Wheel alignment
The steering wheel is now having to be put at 10oc to drive straight, I told matey who done the work this and he said the parts need to be worn in and the steering will correct...
*cost to replace at a garage, don't know there labour charges but they want £55 for track rod end, fitting and tracking. so maybe you can go by that?
Really scared that this is going to rape my bank account.
I've done some research sounds like the CV joint, anyone know how much that will cost to replace
So; so far I've got to have the LHS track rod end and tracking done at £55 and the CJ joint, Don't think I can get away with just a boot but there is a bit of grease left inside it.
As if my Clio didn't have enough problems.
Tommorow it's going in to have a new LHS track rod end.
I only noticed this new sound today as I left my headunit at home so I didn't have twin subs droaning it out.
When I go above 20mph i get a clicking noise from the rhs tyre or what seems...
How much you reckon a garage would charge if theres more wrong like that, they're changing the track rod end tommorow was wondering how much it;; come to if they've got to change the drive shaft etc..
Under the car on the left hand side the bit of rubber which sort of looks like a coil has split if you put your finger in it you can feel grease in it, anyway.
When I turn my wheel any amount to the left a get a vibrating type of humming sound I was wondering does this sound like the result...
He's talking about the clutch bearing as I remember his previous posts, got the same problem as me. My past three clios have all made the same noise no problems yet from it though **Touch wood**
Any idea how much it works out per mile?
surely they can track if you go over the speed limit too with the box, good idea but get the feeling of big brother.
Okay had a look at them, on the passenger side there is a rubber tube like thing which has split if you put your finger in it it's all greasy.
I told the workshop which was doing it the car needs new track rods would he know I meant track rod ends, if it's very unlikely to be track rods maybe...
Okay Len cheers mate what I'll do tommorow then is jack the Clio up, poor bugger been up and down more times than a seesaw the past few days.
If it's the track rod ends - the rubber will have split and will be visable from looking at the car that way, he diagnoised it by fiddling about with...
