Its quiote an accurate system realy light come on at 5 liter ie 1.1 gallon of fuel left.
Fuel sensor though has a wide toleracne in it so the computers only as accurate as that.
Anyway why leave it that low?
The 182 has a different engine code it is a slightly different engine but nothing serious just changed production parts can be swopped.
The power came from the 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and sportier can and exhuats system with a remap to suit.
If you've no outgoings and can affrod it whey not do it legally. My understanding is you cannot afford it legally.

As for fuel I don't see what leg you have to stand on there offering you a car which you return with the same fuel level as you were given it with did you expect them to...

In the first 25 miles or so get th engine warm and then boot it up the rev range and let it come down on its own a few times to bed the pistons rings in them after a few hundred miles change the oil idealy.
