    Get someone to push the car with you in the driving seat. Turn the ignition on, when your moving a fair speed stick the car in 2nd gear drop the clutc it should be enough to turn the engine over and start it running.

    Alternator sounds like its gone eacy way to check get the battery charge if it starts the car then its the alternator. check the earthing leads though on the alternaot though there usless. Might be the battery in the cold they don't hold power as well get it checked if you want.

You have one per injectro you only need to change the faulty one Unplug them one at a time seperatly and see when the problem goes away then you need to replace that one idealy you shoudl chnage both that and the one one next to it ie If number 3 was faulty change that...

    Did they replace the clucth cable?IF so then thts probably the problem they didn't use a proper Renault oe which it is essesntial that they do or they have gone and got it caught by routing it wrongly.

    The best way any decinet gains is a more powerful engine a 1.8 or 2.0 engine will give way more power for £. You can as said get some fair increases but the cost does add up more than say a 2.0 Williams engine etc which gives 150hp+ easy.

    Check the oil level and pressure sensors are working. How new is the oil might be a bit thick also be a sign of the oil pump failing. if you go to a garge they should be able to tell you why the light is on when they do a diagnostics on the car.

    Thye go for less than the proper unmodifed cars. Is that Mk1 or Mk2 you have then? Anyone who insured it as a 1.4 (I guess that includes you) is stupid IMO might as well not insure yourself.

    Individual throttle bodies remove the restriction on the intaek but for the cost there are easier ways to power normal cams head work and reworking the plebahm (better using the Mk2 one) will have been gains plus you keep the stock ECU.
