As you've said there are two versions one for the 182 nine cup packed and 172's which have the 54mm hub measurments
One for the 182 with Cup packs with 60mmm hub spacing.
Stock brakes arn't half bad uprated pads arn't that difficult since there racing calipers.
The Mk1 V6 ins't a good track car though its expensive heavy handling on the wet in particuly is bad even on the better phase 2 version the phase1 would be a very poor track car IMO.
Mods there a few...
You can do it just need to push them down more (its not a good idea though doing spring chnages without compressors just as people know you don't need them.)
I'd love to give an opinion but the video a bit usless I cannot see the speeod much try taping the camera to to dah or somehting.

Idealy you should use spring compressors but if you know what to expect/do theres no need. if its your first time use them yep.
Springs compressors are only £15 from halfords etc.

Why not do a whole Phase 1 transplant then swop it all? Remove the PAS and Aircon drop the electric rack a line from the abs or use a custom...

You need the caliper bracket ie the bit th calipers bolt to and it bolts to the hub.
Its not a bad idea upgrading to them exspecaily for the little extra it will cost.
The only extra thing you'll have to do it undo the bake pipe lines and bleed the system but thats not a huge job to do...
Happy birthday.
Do the simple thing junk the rear loom you might get lucky and the plugs are the same under the dah if not just take the simple option and solder up the looms rarther than striup it out.
How come you didn't go for a phase 1?
WHy are you taking it off you only need to loosen the bolt to pull the engine.
If you want to remove either part of the mount yep you'll need to support the engine.
