No you cant just turn them off, you have to unplug it by undoing the 3 screws.

Iv had this problem on many 172 cups and it always seems to be the cups that do it. Its water in the alarm. Remove the scuttle panel/wipers/wiper mechanism and you will see the siren. Dissconect it and they should stop flashing. Hope this helps!

Remove trim across the top of the glove box. Undo screws underneath. Remove panel off the side of the dash, remove screw/screws. Undo single screw inside glovebox at top. Then yank.

I believe its the exhaust manifold being 4-2-1 rather than the 172 being 4-1. The engine map will be different also.

Something to do with seperating a white wire from the loom to stop interfirence to the ultra sonics iirc

if the lights flashing its an imobiliser fault. Keys are very weak on ph1s. Have you got a spare key?

Basically the ph2 172 stereo has alot better sound coming out of it than my ph1 172. Why is this? Is it the output of the radios? As far as I can tell the speakers are the same? If I were to buy a later radio, would this be an 'upgrade' to mine? THanks

Are the hazards flashing? The airbag computer 'locks' in an impact. You will need a new one.

Make sure the ultrasonics are pointing in a patturn where they meet on the centre rear seat.

Pull the emergency key blade out of the card, here will be a single battery in there. A CR 2016 iirc. The hole for the key card is under the radio/hazard switch.

Sounds like you have popped the linkage apart. Remove the scuttle panel and have a butchers.

If the warning light is illuminated, there will be stored fault. You need to get it fault tested. Theres no use in just bolting new parts on willy nilly. It will either be an overboosting issue or fuel presure.
