Seeing as my whole car is in pieces at the moment with the engine out, I thought I might as well get the flywheel lightened and balanced - anyone here done it on a 16v or Willy who can tell me how it affects the way the car performs?
Im expecting a lumpier idle (its lumpy anyway with my cams)...
Seeing as this thread is FAO Captain Slarty, maybe you can sort this out Joe...theres a geezer in Iceland wanting to do a engine transplant into a 1.2 Clio (I think) and hes serious about wanting to squeeze a 172 lump in there and ship it out from the UK.

Nice move Jimbo, Ive been wondering if that kind of mod would do anything on its own. I kind of thought that adding more fuel wouldnt be much good if it took the mixture too rich, but obviously its done the trick for you...
Electrics problems are common, definitely check the cambelt has been done recently, otherwise youve got an expensive job coming up soon just to replace it.
