*lol* Well have to agree to disagree on this one then Joe!
I know what youre saying about inlet tract pulses etc and how this might be upset by pressurised air being rammed in constantly but this is a red herring IMHO. If engines were so easily upset that they had to be protected from the...
Well mines taking around 250bhp. I can tell you through experience with this sort of thing that itll take 100 extra hp no problem as long as you dont try it from a standing start. Go easy on your clutch and itll last a long time. The gearbox is safe cos the clutch will go first. The lump will...
Well yeah you know how it is, Id been running around on them all round France, I wasnt gonna bring a spare set of 15s with me!
Anyway it was a good chance to try them out under harsh conditions and they stood up very well, no weird handling problems or scrub.
Joe youve gone mental. The fact of the matter is that many people have tried it and it works, whatever boffin measurements you wanna take, you cannot deny that a front facing scoop will give a higher pressure to the intake air than if the pipe was just in the original position , behind the...
The engine needs oxygen and fuel. Youve got enough fuel but the ECU will inject more (giving more power with the right mixture) if you can somehow get more oxygen in.
you dont have a turbo or supercharger so cant physically force more air in. but the density of air changes quite significantly...
Good call Chun. Yes, a filter is always the first thing to look at but its only really a stepping stone that will help if youre later on going for modding the internals. Youre never gonna set the world on fire with an NA 1.2 unfortunately. You could put nitrous on it, that would be a nice...
Well have to agree to disagree cos I reckon its *36* ! Or at least thats what my Renault wheels say.
Doesnt make much difference really. Not 1mm. As long as you get something in the range 34-38mm youre pretty much spot on.
Well I dont want to mess about with spacers so really there are only two options. Get 300mm + disc conversion and never put my 15s on again. Or have little saucer-sized Tarox discs all the time even though my 15s dont go on very often.
Anyone wanna buy my phase 1s with Eagle F1 195/50/15?
Yeah i know what you mean - Im thinking of putting the breather pipes into the 90 elbow so the oil still gets burnt off. When Matt C gets his 16v kit Ill find out what exactly this adapter plate is. If its a thing to plug in the breathers then Ill see if I can get hold of just the plate.
No, If I was keeping my 15s on all the time whats the point in trying to get bigger discs on? They wont go, at least AFAIK, so I ruled it out. If there is a big disc conversion that will go in behind phase 1 alloys then Im interested. But I just dont think there is. Or at least the absolute...
Well there is one other option. If anyone makes a 285mm or 300mm conversion that will still fit inside phase 1 15s. The KTec one is drilled which I dont want and the Hi-Spec one looks like it would be too big for the 6.5x15 wheels.
If I was definitely keeping 15s on all the time Id go for decent discs and pads. Tarox G88 with Ferodo DS 2000. If the bigger wheels are staying on all the time then its definitely got to be big disc conversion, no doubt about it.
My problem is I ride on the 18s most of the time but...
Right these are the details of what Im doing if anyone wants a go. Dont blame me if you cant get it to fit though!
Im getting a BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox - custom version for a BMW 3.0 Z3. It has the full 150mm diameter but only 160mm in length which is just short enough to fit downwards in...
Bad luck, unfortunately silicone hose is expensive wherever you go! Theres another company that does hose called SFS, I think its a bit cheaper and the quality looks the same.
I assume you know to look in the DT catalogue for custom plumbing lengths?
Ahh but I asked this one a while back cos I thought that the contact area would be the same. But the difference is that because the point is further out and theres more circumference to go around you get a better mechanical advantage.
The Rsi is well roomy. I think it probably would be possible to do a Viper in a 16v bonnet but without knowing the dimensions Im not taking a chance. Not for 250 notes anyway.
Anyway I dont want to give out my top secret way of getting a BMC box to fit!!! It took me a whole day of dismantling...
