They mount to the subframe for the lower one on the same places the normal seat belts hook the rear ones should be mounted high up. This picture gives you an idea how they should be mounted mounting them low on the rear seats is asking for trouble and serious damage in a crash. The only...
Cambelt is a pain as its a big engine and not much space. Places will do it cheap £150 is the going rate I think.
Nothing much to look for if you already know where there rust is just check the engine runs ok all the way to the limit check it limits out at the right RPm unless you want a...
Which side as the passengers side is more difficult as you've got to drain the gearbox. although its not huge just ned new fluid. I'll write a gauide depending on which it is takes an hour at most to do either sade if you take your time.
Cheap parts try Halfords or other motorshops.
Its...
Don't bother with Toyos Proxis there rubbish IMO only advantage is there cheap.
195/50 is a better cheaper size they will catch your rear arch liner a bit but its no problem they'll just wear away a bit.
You can use a whole range of sized wheels also depnds if you don't mind a bit of cathcing if you have any interier if you want to keep your arch liner or modify the arches to get the wheels to fit.
Steve on here has had it done (or BB's I forget which he has) have a look in the meeting forum the posts in the airfield post a lot.
There another member with one.
Do a search and it will all be revealed.
30k is nothing milage wise I'd go for one with more milage unless its a very late 172. You can get phase 1 for £3k with 90k or so on them.
Have a look on the trader you can gte phase 2 with lowish milage say 50k for £6k easily.
I don't see it appearing in this generation Clio unless they realy want the sales or the 197 does badly in the market.
There is a GT version of the CLio coming most likly a detuned 2.0 engine not a diesel though.
The 172 gearbox would seriously limit and decinet torque though ithe 100dci...
Stock brakes are more than adequate get the system bled the brakes were ok for the 150hp Williams so a 1.4 is no trouble.
Rear diks can be done Matt has 182 rear axles brand new in stock £500 with all you need or shop round and you can get second hand ones for £200 or so. There only 4 bolts...
Errr do you know someoen at Renault who will switch your one touch on using the clip as withouth this its a waste of time.
Getting a part number for the one touch switch is difficuolt since UK cars don't have it (imports don't count as some of them have it as the different spec).
I'll have a...
Yep some new wires from the drivers and passnegers doros to each other and the UCH a new drivers side switch (would take a few days to order since its not keep in UK stock and from what I remeber you cannot bodge the stock one to work. Also you need a dealership with a Clip to switch the option...
Phone Matt on 01254386661 for the parts but hes up in accrington.
Airbag computer seat rear and airbag need replacing you can always just have the airbag computer reset but I'm not 100% sure how reliable this is after all Renault say it once used to set an airbag off should be thrown away...
Yep just a quick full touch.
Only works on the drivers side to get the passengers side to do one touch from either side you need Renault to switch it on in the UCH plus you need a new drivers side switch and a few extra cables its not worth the effort.
Best off buying a proper jack and axle stands.
There a guie on jacking points etc in the guides forum. You cna get a jack and stand for £20 I think now from Argos.
Its expensive to do Cltch specailst are your best bet loads of garages won't do it but you'll be looking at £300 cash But I'd buy a Renault original clutch though there the best IMO for most cars.
Just get a panel gains won't be huge you might get a few hp at best 4 or so then gain your engine might be worn so it won't ven make stock power unfortunatly.
