The rears springs and shocks will fit but there not the right spec so the ride won't be right.
The front err none truied the driveshafts shoulnd't fit so you'd be looking at a baodge to make it towkr. The shocks themselves might fit but they won't be right first problem is the hubs on your car...
Possibly quicker it depends. I guess its down to track and car.
Its not all about speed though I'd pick a new Willaims over a Trophy all the time but the Williams isn't as safe or what I prefere in driving position.
You can pick them up for even less than that if you look round.
There a few on the trader for under £4k there even one phase 1 model and a phase 1 with 84k for £3.3k or one with 110k from a trader for £3k.
Your not the only peopson who's been confused even worse when two owners of cars on the same plate park up and one realises they have the lock and one doesn't.
Mid way thought 2003 or so I think the drivers lock was removed from the spec. Its beacase in France as mentioned they removed there passengers side lock and since the locks aren't interchangable and they'd have had to keep the drivers door with holes in production they did the same for us only...
The race 1600 cars get a fair bit 200hp or so I think but thats a race car with race car running problems (ie cost reliability etc).
Best idea if you want more power is to stick a 172 engine etc in £2k for the parts plus new clucth etc.
There are bits out there for the 1.6 manifold work...
Yep just get the reg plate off a 182 and they will give you a part number and price.
It will fit a 1.2 but you need the rear brakes light and a bit of pipe as the normal hose isn't long enough.
Renault dealers would probably be willing to do it but then again its not normla jobs like...
most of the time a proper dcecat won't pass a sports can will though.
Best filter for power is the Viper but its expensive.
Intake manifold work (£160) then the 182 4-2-1- exhaust manifold with a bit of pipe to match up to your stock exhaust system plus an induction kit with cold air filters...
The dealership should ring Renault Uk who will agree to pay for the claims the dealerships does the work then sends the bill to Renaul UK. Supplying dealership doesn't matter.
Yep you loose the advantage of the ABS powering the speedo (gearbox sensor on the phase 1's so you have lesser choice of gearbox to fit) Also no crucie control on phase 2's (although only later phase 2's had cruise anyway).
Mine got replaced by another dealership that didn't sell the car it goes back to Renault Uk warently for them to pay the dealership who did the work.
Renault UK supply the car and the warently is with then dealers do the work and send the parts back to Renault to to get paid for the work.
Its not that often but they do fail a fair bit. The phase 2 cars have electirc throttle bodies which are about twice a common in failing though.
Personally I like getting rid of all potential issues. Plus the phase 2 wiring and UCH computer are extra weight. Plsus the throttle response isn't...
Just say for them to look at it again its a common issue and its not fit for purpose if it fails ie breaks that quickly. Renault dealerships shouldn't care they claims the money back from Renault Uk they don't actually have to pay for it out of there own pocked and get nothing back.
Why if you don't mind me asking do you need to chnage the sump?
Same sump on the 1.6 and 1.4 engine though.
Best idea price for a sump contact Matt on 01254 386661 he'll help you out.
But your idea of what to do is right.
All Mk2 phase 2 car (in the Uk) have a stupid complex electronics setup there abig computer under the dashbaord which can fail and its £350 or so to fix also all the other bits are connected to it ie ABS so if tit fails your cars realy messed up. Fault findine without a Renault computer...
The light works off the brake fluid level reservior but its not very accurate as at the service they top it up usually. Therfore when it should detech that the level is low ie the caliper extended so far as that the pads need chnaging the fluid level is normal height.
