New are about 6~7mm I think.
Just replace it personally its not much and you'll know how annoying it is to change if it breaks after you put it back. Just use Renault original though there the best.
Inactive isn't difficult just leve it rust not realy an issue if you wanted you could just seal up all the holes and joints.
£1milliosn is a rip off must have had somehting going for it still servicable you can pick them up for next to nothing.
I'd personally but royal purple but its pricy I used Millers 75/90 and that was 40 for 5 liters (so there was spare) and it was ok didn't make a huge difference though still much the same. It smoothed the chnage a bit but you felt the gears going in more.
I get this a bit but then again what to upgrade to? A 172/182 not much point the extra power is't enoguht to satify me for more than a few minutes and I'd want more. Least in my car I won't be going as fast in a staight line so less chance of getting points.
The phase 1's all use the gearbox speedo sensor. Some early phase 2's use the sensor in the gearbox but later ones (Cuped excepted) use the ABS system.
All 182's use the ABS sensors.
Ds2500's are good but since there £40~50 more than a normal pads which are very good its a difficult choice to fully recomend them if you've no trouble with stock stuff.
No way its worth 20k its a static display model even if you got American permit to fly for it you'd need to follow military servicing after all its not a play thing trying just to keep up to date so your not a liability to yourself would be difficult the military arn't in the habit of renting...

If there the same as Halford sell as there ow brand then I wouldn't bother. omar had them on is car and they faded very quickly under any sort of use.
You can drive round without using your brakes though. Thats why I'd just go to Renault.
If you want longer box get a dci 80 box fitted. The ratios will be massive
1st would be good for 36mph or so
2nd would be good for 72mph.
3rd would be good for 110mph
4th would be good for 145mph or so.
5th would in theory allow you to reach a 188 or so but there not enough power to do...

If you can reduce the picture size then open the pictures in paint then go to Imgage-. Sketch/Skew -> then enter a percentage reduction in the horizontal and vertical size (has to be the same % otherwise the picture will not look right) then click ok and save...
As said basic stuff is the best or change the whole engine box ECU etc for a 172 engine. You can buy the bits for £1.5k+ vat from Matt Black off here and then you've got to fit it.
You could get it to work you'd need the 197 bottem end as well as the clucth mating face is different. Alos the engine mounts are different (one is the same I think) so you need to make new ones. The 197 box won't help with high speec cruising though since its no higher gear it will help on...
Best way to do it assuming you've no crane etc is to jack the car lower the subframe title the engine slight and pull the box off (shafts have to be disconnected obviously). On the phase 2 cars you can do it without moving the subframe if you've got small finger from what I remember.
PM me...
Depends which one first one is about £100 to £150 or so then say £150~200 for the later one the 36k and 54k also incde for the cleaning of the rear drums so thats a bit extra.
The 72k one is about £550 all in as it includes cambelt.

Mid way thought 2003 or so I think the drivers lock was removed from the spec. Its beacase in France as mentioned they removed there passengers side lock and since the locks aren't interchangable and they'd have had to keep the drivers door with...
