It is covered but most dealerships don't want to try with Renault although Renault will pay out.
The thing is the dealership has to foot the bill and send the shock (usually) back to Renault UK for testing if Renault approve the failure ie they agree it was at fault then they pay the garage...
Yep, but the abuse on the ball joints caused by hammering the tyres on the bendsis like hitting the curbs caused one of them to fail. It was done under warently so if the cars under warently it will be done.
I'd get the tracking checked first try and get the dimentions they get as well written...
If she likes the curbs it could easily be the bottom wishbone or ball joint being loose there not that strong to suvive abuse I've killed one in 36k and I don't hit any curbs.
Get a geometry checkup done, also the shocks and springs can fail so check them for any signs of leaks basicalyl take each whel off and look for problems.
Upto about 2001 or so the 172's had gearbox sensors its located at the back of the gearbox by the manifold. Later cars got the speed from the wheels sensors/ABS setup.
Eurocar parts but for bushes I'd go to Renault ever time personally.
Aslo I'd say change your to mount and botom ball joints for new Renault ones you can get cheaper and they might not make any difference but still every little will help.
Have a look on my tyres and black circle. Black circle are the cheapest i can find by a few pounds.
£159.52 for 4 Continental premium contack ie original compound.
The Premium Contact 2 are the same compound but different tread patern which I found didn't survive as well on track as there...
The 197 box was desinged by Renault and Nissan its a shared effort 60% Renault I think effort in.
The French seem to have a way of building fun car Nissan doesn't make the Micra as fun as the Clios are and for this plain and simple reason I'd buy the French car. Also there very similar cars...
You should get in under warently there a common failure but theyre not covered under warently as its wear and tear you have to get it done under the fitness for purpose part of the warently since they havn't lasted a suitable period.
CIS are the only one but the rules were always under question about them removing this.
They do say its only in emergencies that you can drive other cars though how you define emergencies I don't know.
Everyone has there onw preferences I like the original ones the Continetal I've got 3 at home in 185/55/15 spec if you want to buy partially worn no idea whay only 3 but I swoped due to cost to 195/50/15 but the same spec tyres.
Few tyres have a deciet sidewall the only good ones are track spec...
Some companies give unlimited europe cover in the Uk but if you'r moving there then you'd have to tell them your new address so they may refuse to cover you so the easy answer is to move and after a few weeks ring and tell them to cancel the policy etc.
There is no fan belt.
Do you mean the AUX belt ie the one which powers the alternator etc or the one whohc drives th cams ie the cambelt?
the Aux belt can be doneyourself not that bad a job but as with anyhtign on a Valver its a pain to do space wise. Cambelt migth as well leave to a...
So long as you swop all 4 tyres your OK. The speedo is ever so slighlt our but compaired to cars nomal inacuracy its nothing you'll notice.
I'd just stick with the tyres you like load rating won't make any difference the coilovers won't effect the tyres,
It shouldn't need chnaging for a long long time.
Its most likly the internal tank type although some cars came with the external tank type.
It doesn't need changing till 150k according to Renault but some have been done at 100k by owners.
Most Uk insurers will cover you in the EU for free anyway for a certain time that might be your best idea then when your over there ring the insurance companies.
I'd recomend talking to Eddd on here but I don't think he visits much any more.
Brun had them and they squeeked and I don't thik he liked them
Nick Read used to have them but they put extra load onto his car and broke other more expensive bits
Mike had to remove a few sets from 172 owners cars as they didn't like them.
If like me your hit a lot of things don't bother cleaning them off. Anything of a decient size ie birds/dogs will fall of when you wash it might need a few seconds extra with the jet wash.
I'm not sure what your problem is they all idle terriable when cold due to emmisions mapping.
If the throttle connection was wrong them the engine idles at 1.3k so you'd notice that.
