    insurance am i wrong or right

    There are to many variables somtimes Cups are cheaper than 172s. Some companies are the other way round. Its not just done to crahses at such but also value of cars, the cars history ie if loads of 172 crash ans the cups dont then 172 insurance quotes should increase.

    Its only a recient addition. Not worth it, the prices are the same as a 182. Get a 80 then chip it for much less. Wont hold its value better than the petrols. It will be worth sa 20% more but it costs 20% more.

    Some companies will insure transplant cars for little extra ontop of a normal car. Liverpool Victoria used to be like this (not sure if they still are 100%) but it was £40 or something a year extra for any engine transplant I wanted and I was 20.

    Yep its got the cover to protect the belt from dirt plus alos if the aux belt snaps it is less likly to mess up the timming belt which is much more important.

    Its not an optimum just says your close to the red line. Comes on 200~300rpm before redline I think If you dont have it it might just be as its broke or hasnt beeen connected.

    Yep. There are easier ways to thread the cable (read lazier) by just threading round the side of the gearchange bit .

    Simple thing is to buy the whole front of a 172/182/Cup. Youd need the engine, subframe, wishbones, driveshafts, new ecu (£200) then use the 2.0 brakes and err somehow fix the ABS either with a 172 rear axle or forget it and go to bias valve. 172 are so cheap now its cheaper (not as unique)...

    The lead wont be there. Id put money on ir. People left the cables in 172 when they sold them and removed the cd changer to sell etc leading people to belive they stuck them in all cars, they didnt dealerships installed the cable only if the car had a cd changer installed.
