    Id keep it standard not because of the fact that I belive illimas are sacred but just because however much power you get youll always want more. Spend the money on other things. Like a holiday which although is never there unlike a power modifications youll enjoy and have longer memories...

    I think any car a particular person in this case burbury wearing basball cap drivers own makes then chavs. If they drove absolutly normal Ladas that would make the Lada a chav car if they drove Skylines then they would be chav cars.     I have it as well I think its just the water draining out the car from all the areas it manages to get to. Glad to see some more dci owners though.

    Tracker devices-not worth s**t

    If they want your car they will have it. All these tracking programs have weekeness. GPS doesnt work in tunnels thats one way round it, take the car to a tunnel and remove the tracker there.

    Mine did the same they claimed to have never heard of the problem though I was going mad. They said they fixed some earthing wire last time it went in and its never done it since then.

    How much is 1st service

    Would cost £99 at my old local dealership in Birkenhead. Have shop round you can get it cheap. £100 to £150 is about normal. Any reasonable oil should be fine.

    Its lowered 5mm at the rear and and 7mm at the rear (just checked) but it has a greather tolerance of +-7.5mm wheras the 172 has a tolerance of +-10mm so the 172 can be just as low. 172 barkes are exactly the same the 172 has ABS and other electronic bits but they dont change the power of thee...

    172 Idling

    The idle is nothing to do with the engine itself its the tree hugging enviromentalists who forced Renault to program the engine with no enrichment when cold (well not much). The engine could idle normally if you ECU maps had been made differently, but emmisions would have been higher.

    Just be careful I worked with a load of young lads who suddently started getting a load of money and then got themselves in debt. When they crash or the insurance or service catches them out its bad news. Or they girlfriend find out shes pregnant etc.

    Accoring to my calculation (Im sad) it is accurate in my case to about 0.5% and it under reads this is after about 30k miles.

    You could aways do as the CTR drivers do if you burst the front wheel and a 15 etc wont fit swop the front and rear tyres round and put the spare on the rear.

    Id like to claim the title for worst MPG though try and beat 37mpg (might have been sligtly less but the trip hadnt been reset) over quite a few miles of roads.

    They could rev the engine to thee redline form cold for all you know in the workshop and it would never show on the clock. Id say either got to a place with a viewing gallery, make a note of the milage and hope there gentle or just trust them.

    Just the two yep the timming belt is hidden behind a protective cover and only does the cam timming. The AUX belt does everthing else. Both should be changed at the 72k service.

    Its a long job to do you have to remove the engine mount on that side to do it. The 2.0 is a big engine not much space in there to make it easy to repair it. Wouldnt be a Renault if it toook an hour to do it. Anything over £600 is a total ripoff in my view.

    The engines are missing a few bits to make them run anyway £1.2 is expensive. They were £2.5k new from Renault. Anyway they only make 166.6hp in UK terms. If only I had some cash though Id buy a few.
