Sorry if I appeared like that I was having a go at you. I was trying to help people get a better understanding of why turbos are different to normall aspirate cars. And so why the turbo boys sometimes need higer ROn fuel but normaly aspirate drivers (usualy) dont.
Glad I could help though.
But Evo do loads of miles and top gear proved a while back (not that it was necessary) that cars with more miles on them were quicker as the parts had "loosened up".
The aditives will help give a better cleaners burn etc but as for its value well I wouldnt pay the extra personally. Its to...
Turbo cars are different than normally aspirated engines like a 172/182.
The thing is that higher RON fuel is more resistant to exploding as it takes longer before it exploed after being ignited. So turbo cars can stuff more air into the engine ie run more boost when it detects that the engine...
Will do more harm than good sicne the higher RON fuel will take longer to go through preflame rarther than normal fuel so the maximum pressure will be made to late in the cycle so youll end up with less power.
A 182 has advantages over a diesel the 100dci isnt far off a 182 price but a 182 should hold its price better. There notrealy similar cars expect prices arnt that far differetn new.
But saying unelss you do "intergalactic mileage to justify the diesel" it very unfair after about 30k a dci will...

Either that or something else has been set up differently, ny 1st 1 had the cup susp. the 2nd 1...
Yep will need the intake doing as well.
Ive been thinging that the problem that since the injectors are only good for 208hp so any more than 180 and Id chicken out the SMT7 could run an extra injector and help you keep the injectors in a safe limit.
All new shape Clios (sport excepted) have 18k/2yrs servicing. The 172/182/V6 are 12k/2yrs. They all used to have a free 6k check.
Not a bad price that though.
Id hate to think how poor Id be with 6k servicing Id have my own chair at Renault.
The 172 nd 182 cnnot have offical Renault towbars fiteed.
The 172 has had them fitted though in the past and a 182 one could be made.
Im not sure a 182 though is realy up to towing a ton. I know it has the torque but the clutch wont like it. Particularly if you want to start filling the car...
I paid £10k for my dci (I got ripped off). But even if I could have afforded a Cup/172 I probably wouldnt have the trouthe is that Ive saved a fair bit owning a dci what with the free insurance and petrol/servicing.
I dont think even now I would have got one with the cost of fuel and insurance...
Dont bother spedning money on head work and cams if your going to turbo it.
Save the cash for the turbo instead.
Id save your money and go for throttle bodies and head work though.
You wont see 200hp from just head work and cams along with a remap though (in my view). 190 is about the best.
Just to finish the story after a few more phone calls and letters from More Than arguing I have/havnt sent them proof of NCB (it changed by the day) and promising to phone me back and not doing so they have agreed to refund the £561 I paid for insurance for this year ie Ive had ~2month free...
3 Williams versions were made in total, only the first lot have a numbered plate on them.
Try here though for more differences etc.

Take them both for a drive.
Id think if you like the 2.0 Corsa power a 172 is the only way to go a172 should be sligtly quicker than a 2.0 unless you had a few mods or a 2.0 turbo.
Id go for a 172 personally for the extras you get ie CC better brakes suspension etc.
The 172 and 182 share the same brakes.
Everyone liketo think as theres as slighlt better ie 172 Cup vs 172 vs 182 Vs 182 Cup (packed or stripped out cup) but there the same.
Its stupid but there are so many factors affecting it.
182 might have had less claims so seen as a safer car. Or the modified 182 bits might be cheper to fix in an accident.
Also if you pay £12k for a car you might take more care.
Are you sure they can shift 210hp with custom remap. There are tunning stuff to see 440hp from them.
There are some people (filistines) who are ashamed of driving a diesel and rebadge them.
I wish thed bring the 1.9 150PD 4 motion version out here. Ive seen them easily beat 360s in straight...
Turboing the engine is never going to be cheap so if you go for a 172 or 16V it will be about the same cost.
The 172 weights more but has the better and stronger box.
Your looking at ~£6k for the turbo kit though for 270hp.
A low pressure one giving ~210hp could be done for ~£4k though
Maybe, different companies have different policies.
They might have said repairs are worth 40% the value of the car before the crash so write it off so there no other possible problems + they dont have to insure the driver for the rest of the year.
It seems accoring to Renault cambelt and aux belt at 72k.
I wouldnt chnage them any easier its just wasted money in my view Renault built it to survive 72k+ at least before it needs a new belt however its treated so I wouldnt spend extra money servicing it twice as often.
Probably not.
The cable is £86 from Renault to connect to a normal heard unit wich you might be able to bodge to fix (Ive got the wring diagram if you want).
