I am biting the bullet and going down the route of fitting ITB's to my Ph1. Always wanted them and have the opportunity to do it. Because noise.
Going to do it in stages, like get the rad and that sorted. Then fit the ITB's. Then when the cam belt needs replacing in a few years get some spicier...
Could be gear box oil as the N/S drive shaft is in the open end of the gear box so removing it and the gear box oil pours out. Have heard this can happen when jacking the car up too.
As for engine mounts, I had a Vibratechnics solid mount in my old Ph1. It was ok, but the rest of the car was a...
Going to get my Ph1 resprayed in the coming months. So the overal look isn't let down by the headlights I am going to get some new ones. Are there any ones to look out for? I have taken a quick look on AutoDoc and there are a few at varying prices:

I have got a Muc Off pressure washer and this is the fitment for the snow foam attachement.
Is it a standard fitting? As the adjuster is broken and need to get a new one. Wondered if there was a better one to go for or if I am stuck with the standard one.
Trying to work out if a you can get a wireless keybaord and mouse for an XBox One Series S (think it is the S, been told it is all digital and doesn't have a disk drive) as the girlfriend's son has asked for a keyboard and mouse for his birthday to use on his XBox.
Being practical we were...
Something like THIS
But I saw on another thread that the resistors need to be a certain type (carbon or not carbon??) as they won’t work. I will stand corrected on that. I should know if this is rubbish as I studied physics at uni so did loads of electronics.
ordered this a few weeks back and just cleaned the leather seats in my E34. Was pretty good tbh, really easy to use and didn't take too long.
The white cloth that is in the box ended up looking like this
I have used Gliptone leather cleaner stuff in the past but sort of wish I had seen this...
It is currently in gear with some chocks under the wheels as my drive has a slight slope to it.
If it needs new rear discs and pads then so be it, but everything seems to be free and moving. Wonder if they have stuck to the discs and that has damaged them in some way.
The Clio had been sat unused from about November and I foolishly left the hand brake on. Came to move it and it was stuck on but managed to free it by driving off.
Used it yesterday and noticed there was a juddering when braking that I could hear and feel through the brake pedal. Brakes feel...
Been a while since I have had any time on this. After using it a bit I decided I wanted to drop the height of the seats more so took off the runners. Now they are fixed in one position. Now they are in a really nice position and a lot more comfortable. Also gave the interior a good vacuum while...
Just remebered I have an F20/21 boot liner I am not in any need of if anyone is interested in it.

It is a really good bit of kit. I used to put my muddy mountain bike in the back of my car and you wouldn't have known when I...
Could have used a picture where it doesn’t look like my leg has been cut off and left in front of your car!!! (This must have been while I was under my car working out what the knocking noise was)
Wasn't this the car with the US spec rear bumper? From what I read people were confused to why it was running the bigger US spec rear bumper until a crash revelaed an air tank that was used to store boost pressure that was taken from a certain part of the turbo due to a loop hole in the rules...
I think that is going to be the problem as it could be a bigger issue with the water supply/pipes that is out of my control. Hmm will have a rethink. If i can't get the water pressure sorted I will not bother getting one until I move as I can see it happening again.
It was always drained, mainly...
I need to get a new pressure washer as mine died the other day.
It was a gift last year and was a MucOff motorbike one, although it did come with three lance attachements with varying degress of nozzle pressure. One for a car, another for a motorbike and another low pressure for bicycle. Tbh it...
I have Mossy. After using them for the cambelt change on my old Ph1 and then again on my new one I thought they were ok. But they had it in to confirm my steering rack was broken and then replace. They said it wasn't the rack but the aux tensioner that was faulty so I said "can you change it"...
Just been scouring eBay and AutoTrader for M140i's. As previously stated the prices are still strong! It is also hard to find one that is a good spec and standard, then that instantly boosts the price.
Think I found two that I would have gone to take a look at. Basically want what I had before...
Thinking about getting an Apple Watch for the girlfriend this Chirstmas as she has made many comments about mine and the fact she doesn't like her FitBit (tbh her FitBit isn't really a watch, it is just a bracelet with a pedometer in it that syncs to your phone).
I got an Apple Watch SE last...
Trying to buy a house. The houses I can afford don’t have big enough garages and it’s a car that I’m not keeping outside. I’m trying to work out some way of keeping it as it forms a large chunk of the deposit
I had similar with my old Octavia vRS when I had that TerraCleaned. Soon developed an oil leak that no one could find. Must have been during the cleaning process it got rid of some crud that was plugging a small gap.
So you used the same weight deisel oil for a small amount of time to help clean it then removed it and used the 'correct' oil?
A pressure gauge would be good, but don't want to be spending much money on it as it is meant to be for sale.
Have ordered a pressure sensor from BMW so will get...
Yep, found the sensor I need and that so will check if it is leaking and the wiring. Doing more googling about it it is a poor placement of the sensor and the other end of the engine so does take time to read and most people are seeing the pressure light staying on for about 5 seconds.
Will...
Semi Clio related-ish as it relates to engine care, but the oil pressure light on my E34 is slow to turn off when starting to the extent another warning appears saying oil is low but that then turns off after about 30-40sec of it starting. It was always been slow to turn the oil pressure light...
Few nice new parts fitted this past week.
First up was the correct near side drive shaft. Pretty certain that is the cause of the humming/vibration with a bad CV joint.
Also had front wheel bearings too. Now the car has had new front and rear wheel bearings, new wish bones, ball joints, track...
Put the new plug and loom on. Got it the wrong way round to start with (which was always going to happen). Fires up first time.
For reference if anyone searches this in the future this is the way the wires go:
Pink (new loom) to orange (car)
Yellow (new loom) to white (car)
was a genuine...
Sensor and loom has just turned up so will be fitting this on Sunday when I get a chance. Will try that trick before soldering it together. Hope it isn't a pain to get to solder to as I remember when I had my old Ph1 I took the old one off and cleaned it up and it was a faff to get at.
Had this recently. I thought it could have been a non-round wheel. But on inspection I noticed the CV gaitor on the N/S was split so then thought that it could be a CV joint. Have got a new drive shaft in but not been able to test it as it is currently not starting as I am waiting to fit a crank...
Need to get a new crank shaft sensor as I think this is causing the starting and cutting out issues on my Ph1 172, or at least the first thing I am changing.
Was going to get this sensor 8200647554 and the updated loom 8200673202
Now this is the updated sensor and loom - will this fit my Ph1...
