I never fully got to the bottom of this. My car has had new lower arms, new track rod ends and new track rods, but it still does it. It only does it when you accelerate hard on bumpy roads. It's going in next week to have poly bushes fitted to the steering rack, so I will report back then.

What's the engine spec otherwise Keith? Apart from the bodies?

This must mean that my Clio is forged then, because that uses a bit of oil, especially on track. That's my story anyway!

Yeah my knowledge isn't good enough to help you there. The best bet is probably to buy an accident damaged 172/182 and then you know you have everything you need, but I'm sure you won't struggle for advice to get it up and running :)

I've been trying to read up on them as want some parts for my Escort. I've heard a couple of positive reviews on the gear kits, but have heard of people having problems with the final drives. Not heard any reviews of the diffs though.

You're not wrong there. My own fault really, got in a bit deep with my car so it ended up as almost a shell. Everything is modified so everything requires a lot of fiddling to make it work. Difficult to stay motivated when the appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel! Much easier to go...
