    Cams??

it'll save you several hundred to fit cams at the same time as doing the belt.

not a regular off here :) cost wasn't straightforward as it came in running on 3 and smoking REAL bad. We'll be calculating a kit costing some time soon though.

Diesel oil in a petrol engine...

spot on. Tescos 15w40 diesel oil meets surprisingly high standards. Way too thick for a clio though

Diesel oil in a petrol engine...

diesel oils normally have better cleaning agents to help reduce carbon buildup. apart from that there's not much in it. I've run diesel oil in my car loads before

I've owned 205s for 9 years, nothing i could do on track with one that I've not done on the road in the past TBH (slowed down a lot now, stupidity of youth) not the kind of car that interests me (super/hypercars excluded) or make the suspension better, ie modify it to personal taste ;)

    Cup racer project finally finished

Re: clio cup race car project! "shouldn't" happen due to the axle design. Being that the rear isn't independent, you get both sides doing the same thing, so one side is pushed into the arch, the other will follow. you have to allow for a certain amount of flex obviously.

    fly by wire throttle connector?

should be a tab that locks the plug in. I'm not surprised to see them damaged though as they can be awkward to unplug. never replaced one though

    Tappety, with piper cams.

piper cams do tend to make a bit of noise, it's the lifters reaching their maximum. It's not a problem to the running of the car, but it does annoy somme people. We fit Catcams for this reason as it's not worth the hastle of changing if they're noisy. Piper cams do work just fine though

evo is a 15 year younger car, and a rally homologation car at that. 200sx was always an exec coupe with massive tuning potential. I wouldn't take ANY standard car on a track day, that's a fairly weak arguement. I know what can be done with an s13 for half the money to buy an evo.....you pays...

I'll search and ask, never bought them but fitted some. My mate has them on his 205, and i'm getting them on the strength of that. FMP_ had some on the TA car too, he'd know where to get clio fitment

yeah they would, shouldn't cause an issue though, and if you run open ended nuts you can change spacers really easily

if you're going with big-ish spacers I'd look at a stud conversion :) makes putting wheels on a piece of piss too :)

Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project dodgy ECU? had something like this on a nissan where a chip had been fitted some time before and a solder joint had broken Also had another ECU where a surface mount resistor burned out, and if you put the heater on in the car it got a massive misfire. That one took...
