not a regular off here :)
cost wasn't straightforward as it came in running on 3 and smoking REAL bad. We'll be calculating a kit costing some time soon though.
diesel oils normally have better cleaning agents to help reduce carbon buildup. apart from that there's not much in it. I've run diesel oil in my car loads before
havn't seen Buffy in ages!!! collected my diesel 205 from him about a year ago. Stopped off at Jezs a few weeks back to say hi, been promised a passenger ride at next track day he's at :D
I've owned 205s for 9 years, nothing i could do on track with one that I've not done on the road in the past TBH (slowed down a lot now, stupidity of youth)
not the kind of car that interests me (super/hypercars excluded)
or make the suspension better, ie modify it to personal taste ;)
Re: clio cup race car project!
"shouldn't" happen due to the axle design. Being that the rear isn't independent, you get both sides doing the same thing, so one side is pushed into the arch, the other will follow. you have to allow for a certain amount of flex obviously.
piper cams do tend to make a bit of noise, it's the lifters reaching their maximum. It's not a problem to the running of the car, but it does annoy somme people. We fit Catcams for this reason as it's not worth the hastle of changing if they're noisy. Piper cams do work just fine though
evo is a 15 year younger car, and a rally homologation car at that. 200sx was always an exec coupe with massive tuning potential.
I wouldn't take ANY standard car on a track day, that's a fairly weak arguement. I know what can be done with an s13 for half the money to buy an evo.....you pays...
I'll search and ask, never bought them but fitted some. My mate has them on his 205, and i'm getting them on the strength of that.
FMP_ had some on the TA car too, he'd know where to get clio fitment
sunflower one looks nice, and very rare!!!
service wise, cambelt at 72k or 5 years, aux belt every 36k or 5 years (3 years is recommended by most specialists)
Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
dodgy ECU? had something like this on a nissan where a chip had been fitted some time before and a solder joint had broken
Also had another ECU where a surface mount resistor burned out, and if you put the heater on in the car it got a massive misfire. That one took...
