absolutely. SBV116s bay looks fantastic, but not everyone want the same aesthetic indulgence. I can appreciate it, but I wouldn't even consider going to those lengths on my own car. There is no one right solution to all requirements.
Richard (at Omex) has a set on his own 182, with 90mm trumpets, and still has the AC. Uses it every day :). I've fitted several sets to AC equiped cars

I've managed to resurect disks once when i had a terrible judder, i massively abused them and got them so hot they cleaned themselves up, then was a bit more careful to cool them down while still moving. not very...
"better" is very subjective. H&R are ok (though Blistein are identical and cheaper by a significant amount)
i prefer AST. The damping IMO is fantastic, and i like the range of adjustments. H&R/Bilstein are only height adjustable, even have to buy camber bolts extra.
that bit's quite easy though. If you use a proper clubman/race loom you only need to connect a few wires in the relay box, a couple of earths, and a live. saves a lot of headache
