Would I just need to unplug the HID kit and get some standard bulb holders and they would plug into the OEM housing? These are the cables/wires that were there? I assume the HID kit just has connectors to use the OEM headlight connector?
(took these pictures so I knew what plugged back in where...
Managed to get the thing out but am I right in assuming that's a HID kit? So first question is do I replace the bulb and see how it goes come MOT time not sure how they are set up/aligned only the 2nd time I've driven the car and first time I have needed to use the lights and found the bulb...
I actually thought about this to be fair just getting a premium set of road tyres (as like said first track day and possibly cold/wet weather) luckily my wheels are 15" so tyres don't come up that expensive but is it true its best not to use brand new tyres as they can over heat? I would always...
As title really I fancy some gauges for the oil temp and pressure for my 172 track car and also a guide as to how to fit them (unless its simple) . I like the SPA digital gauge as you only really need the one and it looks tidy, is it just a case of oil filter off fit the sandwich plate and...
vouch for that little turbo beast lol I have been in it for a passenger lap, Also @Chi give us a shout when you go efi I would like to hear what these ITB sound like lol (if you don't mind me being nosey again haha), Love the Trophy too you make me so jealous with the selection of toys you have lol.
Just paid £299 for my 172 cup I bought for tracking via Greenlight. That's with mirrored NCD from my daily drive that in have 7 years on. Mods covered free to change and £40 if I wanna insure for a track day.

Looking at the setup and taking a passenger ride in Chi's Turbo when he picked it up the other day I would definitely have no issues using Efi for any mapping. Plus it's on 10 minutes from me so handy too lol.
I have never actually done a track day but Oulton would be my local track being only 20-30 mins from me, Only been to the Nurburgring which I plan on going again (hopefully there is a Owners Club trip planned lol)
Quaife Diff, Buckets/Harnesses, spare set of 15" 2118's, power flow exhaust, ITG Carbon Air intake, Polybushed, Anti-Roll bar, BC Coilovers, Carbon Lorraine pads, Belts and Dephaser been done few thousand miles ago car itself has 59k miles on it. Looked at a couple to be fair and for the price...
Anyone use the R888 and what are they like would of course be mainly track use but the odd day out on the road may be thrown in too, anyone had these on the road? Leaning toward the Federal at the min but the R888 are £73 at the min on that openo.
As far as I know it's original ecu/locks but as with anything that's 14 years old I couldn't be sure lol where abouts are you based @MicKPM only need the one Key as a spare as I only have one now.
Here is mine, got it Today had a little blast in it once I Insured and Taxed it, just need to get it on Track now (its gonna be 95% used on track the other 5% probably driving to the track and country lane blasts lol) Nice little project to get into, needs a clean and could do with a good polish...
Looking forward to getting it on a track soon Haha don't think you'll be chasing long (especially if you take that turbo), Definitely taking my Dad to the Ring next year lol soon as I know what dates its open next year I'm booking the time off work and going not been for about 6-7 years last...
Well finally bought a 172 Cup to share with my Dad doing Track days and thought I would post some pictures up.. Took delivery from @Chi today and after biting the bullet and Insuring (£299 fully comp with Greenlight as a 2nd car) and throwing 6 months tax on (was going to do it monthly and just...
After some advice as to what you guys recommend for Track days and the odd fast road blast, 172 Cup with 15". I have two sets of wheels and ideally a set for dry and a set for wet conditions. Probably be doing my first track day this month or in January.
Thanks.

Same boat here need a Key cutting for a 52 plate 172 Cup. (I know this is an old thread but thought rather than make a new one I would use this) Anyone have any recommendations tried Timpsons in town but they said they couldn't do them would have to try a different shop who can 'do the keys with...
Will do mate, Thanks very much. (missus is gonna kill me when she finds out I'm looking a set of Wilwood Calipers and the Saftey Devices Roll Cage in the for sale section haha)
Thanks for all the info guys, think I was just a little unsure as I have never owned a Clio or a track car. Luckily @Chi was a top bloke and sorted me out.. Just waiting on calling @Neil@greenlight (or a call back) to sort the Insurance out tomorrow Hopefully get a decent quote. Going to be 90%...
Well I'm getting ready to go and view a 172 Cup that I'm looking at buying for track use and trips to the Ring and was wondering if there is much difference and are the 197 worth the extra money over the 172 for example the 172 I'm looking at had 59k miles, Quaife Diff, BC Coilovers, 2 X Bucket...
