Not my cup of tea but i haven't seen a brilliant looking 172 exhaust yet, personal taste is a big thing so if you like it then thats all that counts.
For me thought you can't beat the yozzasport tailpipes on the back of a 182 :)
Just fitted my 182 yozza today, the tailpipes look perfect in the bodywork cutouts, standard is way too small and even the three inch tailpipes i had on my last system looked too small.
To be honest mate you would be better off with a 1.4 sport model at your age, no matter how good you think you might be now it's a different matter when you realize too late that you have entered a corner too quick because of your lack of experience.
My 29 year old brother has a 1.4 sport model...
I came out of work yesterday to hear a clicking noise from under the bonnet, thought nothing of it and then opened the car, put the key in and started the engine but the alarm hadn't turned off so even though i could start the engine the alarm was sounding and the hazards were flashing, so i...
I came out of work tonight to find there was a clicking noise under the bonnet, got in the car and tried to start it but the alarm wouldn't disarm so although the engine started the lights and siren still went off, turned it on and off a few times and finally it let me start the engine without...
I got mine off the demon tweeks ebay shop, £35 posted, delivery was really quick too :)
this was mine, not sure if the 172 is the same or not?

The Acoustic valve is a waste of piping, something to do with EU noise regulations i think, apparently car manufacturers have to abide by certain rules regardless of what is best for your car :rasp:
Definately a price dependant issue that one, all i can say is i have gone for a pipercross panel filter in the oem box and then i removed the cold air feed pipe with the acoustic valve on it, this will give more of a growl to the sound you hear when accelerating, no real increase in power...
I'll have to pass, sorry :(, really wanted to do it but i'll be so busy at the weekend and monday i think this would be pushing things for me time wise.
RS Tuning in leeds do a 182 remap for that price and that includes a before and after rolling road run(£45 each run seperately)
Bearing in mind a 182 clio in good form as standard might make 170-175bhp so if you have a decent exhaust and filter you might see 175-180 bhp after mapping if run on...
I might be wrong here cause i can't find the thread to confirm it but i'm sure jms did research into this and there was something about the best results being from no caf pipe as it allows air to be drawn in unrestricted and as the main heat source(exhaust manifold) is at the rear of the engine...
Cheaper to ask a garage ot specialist to weld the seam back up i would think mate, those things are expensive, if you get one then go for a sports cat, same thing but much cheaper than a standard cat.
I have to agree and say the bhp/tonne thing is nonsense, lots of standard American cars produce huge horsepower but go no faster than a vectra or mondeo, they just build them that way because they don't have the fuel price constraints we do here.
The clio's are quick, it's easy to deny but harder prove and the real point of them is that you can't go quicker for the money, you have to put them in a class with similar priced cars otherwise you could just say they're crap compared to evo's, impreza's, skyline's, porsche's...
That welding could well have been done by a guy that my boss hires in at our place sometimes by the looks of it!.............you get what you pay for i suppose :)
But it's ok, our pressure vessels only have to hold 250 psi of scalding steam :S
My sister's Audi S3(with my brother in law driving it :) ) was a similar match for the 182, you would think the 220 bhp turbo engine would give it the edge but i guess being a 1.8 holds it back a little.
i will say though that the Audi wins hands down in the luxury department, electric...
I have a pipercross panel filter to go in soon so i might just disconnect the front caf and let it take in air from the engine bay bypassing the AV, can't hurt to try at least :)
Oh right lol :)
cheapest option would be to have a welder tig weld it back on, might be 20-30 quid but probably still the cheapest option.
Give Ryan a ring at NWP, i'm sure he'll do it for you :)
Just poking around under the bonnet earlier like you do when you're bored and i spotted something about the 182 airbox that seems odd to me,
there is the main caf pipe that runs down by the side of the front light and then goes into the bumper area, this has the vacuum valve thing on it i think...
You'll be very lucky mate, i've been keeping my eye out lately and they are like rocking horse poop, a couple on ebay but pick up only and that hundreds of miles down south!
try a local scrapers if you can, you might get lucky :)
I'd take the V6 over the porsche anyday, bearing in mind i'd take a R34 skyline over either anyday also :)
There are too many porsche variations on the roads to say if a V6 could or could not beat one hands down........lets say it could probably match half of the porsche models made, wouldn't...
