    Interior sensors

sit in the car and move around I guess - you can check the code that the alarm gives to make sure that it was these that were picking up the movement. [Edited by telford_mike on 30 April 2004 at 10:04am]

    Cup splitter and luggage net

You should have a plastic case containing 4 wheelnuts and an unlocking key. And those cans should be in the boot under the carpet.

    expected increase in bhp

No idea - the car was nearly new. I assume 172 at the fly (now calculated at about 188)

    expected increase in bhp

The car was only 4 months old when I had it done, but I remember thinking at the time that it was better (the rr session proved it). Have a think about the Viper though - you may want to get a re-map to fix the fuelling as the Viper can make the engine run a bit lean.

    expected increase in bhp

Plenty - I have a Magnex full system and Pipercross panel filter - 158 bhp at the wheels.

    Viper Power problems...help please

Vipers work a bit too well, and the ECU cant supply enough fuel so the engine runs lean. You can get this corrected by having a custom re-map - a reputable Superchips dealer can do this, as can hillpower.co.uk (who Id recommend). Strange its only 2nd gear though. [Edited by telford_mike...

    Offset Problem

dogmaul had some ET35 17"s and got some rubbing. ET37 or nothing!!
  13. telford_mike

    Offset Problem

Correct ET is 37 - therefore if theyve sent ET 40 theyll be too far in and will catch the caliper. Wheels are not made in all offsets - it may not be possible to get the right offset in this model.

    main beam 182/172 xenon

OK just reading my handbook. Main beam is H7 anti U.V. 55w. It carries a warning that fitting other types of bulb may damage the plastic headlight lenses.
  15. telford_mike

    Offset Problem

You need ET37. 5mm spacers will help but once you lower the car (you are going to lower it yeah?) you may find its too close to the arch. 3mm spacers would be better - but youre better off without spacers at all.

    New Plugs for 172

Its deliberately like this - the engine runs like a dog until its warmed up because the cat doesnt work properly while its cold. Latest EURO emission regs as I understand it.

    Renault Accident Management Scheme

Hmm yeah thanks guys. I was reading the letter and trying to work out what the catch was - always a bit sus when someone seems to be offering something for nothing. Ill pop down to the dealer and have a word.

    Cracked Fog Light

Independant garage is probably best if you dont want to do it yourself. I use a local one for all my mods and non-warranty repairs.

    Cracked Fog Light

Cost about £45 - did one on our Megane last month - it was held in by just 1 torx screw, but its a sod getting at it under the car.

    New Plugs for 172

  27. telford_mike

    New Plugs for 172

The original plugs cost a fortune, and they dont need changing until 72,000 miles I think. Why change them? A sparks a spark isnt it?

    flat tyre

Ah well, in the good ol days before Cups & 182s were invented you always got a nice spare alloy with your 172, so I think Ill carry a can of that foam from now on and have the best of both worlds :D
