Agree....my car is silent compared to some of my friends cars.
Think the 'worst' for noise is a fully decatted Subaru running a Blitz exhaust....just deafening
Maxogens and Vipers look good but for the money the performance gain is so marginal it seems like too much to spend to me.
I'm still with the panel in the OE airbox and spending money on other areas which will be more beneficial.
I came from a faster car then my 172 but have no problem with it's performance...it's involving to drive, brakes well and does all this for a reasonable price:D
I got my sports cat (Janspeed) from DT.....same as the one they are selling on K-tec but came in cheaper.
No problem with their stealth exhaust though:D
I wouldn't run a K&N.....had one on my 19 16v and it really blunted the performance of the car especially in the summer.
I would probably go for the OE airbox with some modification....nice and cheap too:D
Yeah...you very rarely get the money back.
I've seen lots of people spending money on stuff which to me is useless but at the end of the day it's their cars and their choice.....whatever floats your boat as they say.

I had one of these on my old Renault 19 16v and it was awful....I did try and find my old airbox but being stupid I'd thrown it away!
I did look at a Mk3 Clio in the Renault showroom and wasn't overly keen on it....could have been because it was in red though or because I was more interested in the Renaultsport Megane outside:D

I am interested in improving the car mechanically with mods that are subtle...in other words a decent exhaust, panel, brakes/pads...stuff that is going to improve the drive of the car but not turn it into a s**tbox
