it's primarily for the condition of the belt, but the bearings in the lower idler are particulary vulnerable as it sits down low and gets wet and dirty from the road. The tensioner can seize as I said, and the tensioner pulley can be damaged by clumsy fitting previously. I remove no end of...
a set of OE replacement Pagid disks and pads will kick the arse of most things for less than the price of a set of over rated pads.
For track days I would always use Mintex 1155s
neither. Both overpriced. Pagids are good but not worth anything like the pricetag, and i hate ds2500s
Brembo max disks aare the single biggest waste of time ever created, all they do is wear out the pads faster, cost more and crack, all for twice the price of something that will last
probably inspect it for condition and make sure the tensioner moves freely. Tempting to just change the lot for peace of mind though really. Tensioners seize up from lack of use quite often so low miles isnt an indication
I took it out first (having never driven it before) to make sure no changes needed to be made (as can sometimes be needed, Rollers and road can behave differently) then Snowman took it out straight after we'd finished and he came back shaking.
Probably needs a set of leads. Won''t be heeadgasket. the water will be from someone washing the engine (very stupid thing to do unless you plan of taking it apart and drying it all out afterwards)
not really lumpy that it would cause concern.
I took a 438'd cup for MOT the other day and got 41mpg. The owner had been getting 33mpg and thought there was something wrong. Seems he's just been enjoying it, LOL
Bit of an update
when we first had the car on the dyno for mapping, we got most of the way through and the gearbox gave up. After giving the car back so Andy and Gaz could do their thing and swap over the newly detailed box, the car was put into the bodyshop for what was meant to be "a few...
impact guns are so much safer for removing bolts, hanging off a bar puts a nasty constant stretching force on. Always try and use a jerking motion to crack off tight nuts and bolts. Being a steel bolt into aluminium really doesn't give you a good chance from the start. Bi-metallic corrosion is...
Had a play with one in PC world a couple of days ago. Lovely. The out the box interface is very similar to what I've spent ages getting my Aurora II to be like. Personally I enjoy the modification and rom flashing side of things, but i I wanted out the box, this would be it no question
spray brke cleaner through it, then fill it up with wd-40 (block the other end) then shake it with both ends blocked. Give it a really good chance to agitate dirt out, then rinse with brake cleaner again, then re-lubricate
the vast majority of manufacturers offer it as a non compulsary option. I would do it personally, an engine will produce the most swark and debris in the first few hundred miles of it's life and I'd want that out as soon as possible
RS 200 Clio is a 2 year service interval, the same as all new...
