you don't have to get anything special. it fits onto a stock cat, so any decat that fits anything else is fine. However you can fit a straight sleeved decat rather than a flanged one which will fit and seal better, and I think these are available as a specific fit.
Personal choice really, I don't like the design or sound of the ultra
everything is loud with a decat. I re-fit more cat's than you'd expect because decats are far too noisy. Doing one today.
oh good god, im sure they go by american standards
im fed up of all the differences and uncertainty to be honest, so i'm refurbishing an old clayton and fitting a full new digital aquisition system. noone to blame or question but myself then.
this is true. mostly sales pitch bullshit anyway. Its bewildering what people will believe sometimes, but show them shiny stuff and use big words and they part with huge amounts of money. dynos are 90% for mapping.
looks like it if that is the pressure pkate side shown, however it does look like something is pushing the centre.
how tight are the splines on the main shaft to the clutch plate
supercharging a 1.8 at the moment. On the verge of buying one for myself.
regarding the 1.6 v 1.8 thing though, the 1.8 is so much easier to live with. 1.6 felt dangerous it was so slow
not necessarily true at all. for a start superflow say losses should be measured by run down, this is how their dyno is meant to be used. However its not how it is used at tdf. my benchmark is SRR and ive had a number of cars make within 2bhp between ktec and SRR. I dont like how DD rollers do...
Lazy phone typing..... Doesn't work properly on clios. no hysteresis control for switches etc. Was also told not to use it as there was a glitch in the code but can't remember details (talking a few years back now)
warped disks are a myth, it doesnt happen. pad deposits on the surface are what most people think is warping. youre not using the handbrake when brakes are hot after track are you?
you need to check the clearances, but unless you had the valve seats recut or changed the valves, they're unlikely to be massively wrong.
You could however have done damage to an injector, the tips are very delicate and faulty injectors can knock like a b**ch
Something untoward going on there. Have you tried using the correct method of adjusting/moving the tensioner, and using a 3/8 square drive? you can see the hole it goes in in your picture
injectors, you'll have to do some research and possibly do a lot of measurements until you find some that fit which can supply enough fuel. Diesel injectors are pretty simple things
Speak to a turbo reconditioner like turbo-dynamics, turbo-technics, Owen developments. Turbo-Technics are...
upper engine mount is genuine only AFAIK. I've not found anything else worth using anyway. Upper gearbox, the ECP one is fine, genuine is over priced for what it is, and not very long lasting.
