Very slight squeak from cold (belt related)

it's a bumper off job IMO (though some disagree) Tips aren't easy to give as I've made a special tool for the tensioner because of where it is/access

    seen it all now

Yes Martyn, definitely done a botch on it. Tensioer wasn't adjusted, and I just found this when I was pulling the rocker cover off to reseal it sparkplug on number 2 is totally submerged

    bosch is ideal.

aux tensioner is probably sticking/seized. Replace the kit and it should fix it. Battery would be on the list to consider too as it'll be the extra load on the alternator after a cold start that's causing the slip

    Oil smells of fuel?

£130 odd for genuine if that makes you feel better

    Oil smells of fuel?

I plug in my snap-on diagnostic tool and look as the screen ;) Lambda from me is £72.50. Best off just going to eurocarparts if you're DIY fitting it

    Oil smells of fuel?

codes tell you about 5%. Live data is how you see sensor function, but as a code came up I'd be very confident it's faulty even though the light went.

Having head skimmed, do i need a....

another engine that's more than fine to skim, infact a compression bump would again be a good thing

    Oil smells of fuel?

never letting it get hot and regularly moving it was probably worse than just leaving it to sit, but never mind it's done now. a good service and check over for full sensor functionality, and flush the contamintaed oil out (do 2 oil changes in 200 miles) What kind of mpg have you been getting?

Having head skimmed, do i need a....

renault don't know s**t tbh. skimming is fine, just have to be a little careful to avoid detonation once it's fixed. changing the engine is mental if it really is just headgasket (doubt it, never happens)

    Leak

that looks like it's mostly coming from the breather cover. Remove it, bin the gasket and seal with silicon. Also you could do with a new seal on the vvt solenoid

Having head skimmed, do i need a....

no, you can skim a reasonable amount without worrying. Use good fuel always if more than about 6thou is taken off

    seen it all now

nah it's more than that, if you get the cams closer, the crank moves way out of place

    seen it all now

done when the car was bought, 3 weeks ago. Buyer didn't trust the sales garage
  16. D

    seen it all now

cambelt has been done without use of locking tools. I would never do it on an F4R

    seen it all now

far enough, but not the worst I've seen by a long shot.

Ktec sports cat and piper cross panel filter

threads are for screws..... would have been fitted to the original exhaust and should have been saved and reused

Just bought 182 with K-Tec De-Cat SuperExhaust - Advice needed with Pics....

I see no mention of a decat..... the center silencer makes a lot of difference to noise, but you won't fail emmisions becuase of not having one. Good exhaust, center silenced version is better

    172 Cup Track/Fast Road car.

it's the cheap ebay fans that are problems in traffic on a road car rather than the rad, they're soooooo slow

Anyone got a 3 arm puller around cambridge? - Rear wheel bearing stuck on spindle :(

Re: Anyone got a 3 arm puller around cambridge? - Rear wheel bearing stuck on spindle The reason it was stuck on will be the missing spacers. They're 100% vital
