they make a lot of difference to steering responsiveness, as is logical really. take out the play that would have been the rubber compressing first and you just turn. You also alter the geometry to a degree as the top is pivotting in a much smaller arc
they work, but they feel crap to use and inspire no confidence IMO. I know lots of people with the same opinion
Nick is spot on, they're just "the in thing" that everyone uses. Mintex 1155 piss on them, and Brembo sports are designed to be better and still legal for road use
setting them up is a bit more difficult though. there's some LOL-worthy attempts at setup come through the door. I saw a 182 with 1.5deg of positive camber a few weeks back. Yes. POSITIVE camber
I know there are brackets designed in CAD for it, but I don't think they've been manufactured yet. Can't see there being any cutting of bodywork needed
Re: Cam's
438s have yeilded great drivabilty and good results for a handful of cars that I've done so far :) They would be my first choice
Mapping a ph1 that I've just fitted with GT cams tomorrow so we'll see what they come up with. They're almost identical to 428s so I kind of know what to...
how would that be any different? both have a pin hole in. The oval part that goes into the plenum is NOT (for the millionth time!!!) a breather, it is a vacuum take off for the carbon canister.
Put a screw in the small hole. Done
Re: yokohama parada??? any gd
i find paradas fine in the wet. theyre perfectly priced for how well they do the job of being a tyre. if you want loads better pay more. im trying out hankook v12s at the moment but havnt done many miles yet
Were the valve clearances done properly? Sounds like a valve might not be sealing once the engine warms up. It's a long and boring job to do to get them right
JP = LOUD!!!
RS192 = Fits like a sack of arse. rather have powerflow :dead:
Miltek = CRACK!!!!!!!!!! (i've welded up countless boxes and hangers)
Piper = Amazeballs
Janspeed/K-tec = Great budget option, center silenced version (sport) is the closest you'll get to standard noise levels
constantly shocks me that mechanics have no idea how to source parts. You're not alone but I just can't get my head round it. How do you get parts for customers?
They need to stop coming up with quirky guff that no-one wants. If they continue the improvements that were well displayed in the Lumia 800 then they can pull it back. Gone are the days of them making 50 different phones and dominating the displays in every phone shop, they need no more than 5...
got to be honest, me too.
It's a very nice system for equal air distribution on turbo cars where one cylinder can often be starved, but for the money it would cost (it's really not cheap!!) just get a bit more saved and go for throttle bodies
