you're mostly looking at 256/264/272 degree cams on the SR for aftermarket, and the lift is still less than an F4R stock cam. What's an SR20DET stock inlet cam? 9mm lift? and aftermarket is roughly in the 10 to 10.5mm region?
Firstly, assume nothing. Only way to tell is try it. Everyone said the subframe had to come off the 172 to fit the 182 manifold, even with the engine out. Mine popped in with zero effort.
it's relatively simple to account for this by moving the switch points of the vvt. Everyone forgets you can raise the rpm that it engages aswell as altering the top switch point
it's valid. Personal taste if you like them really. I do have a number of people mentioning they're not different to standard by any moticable margin which they're disappointed with
more likely rocker cover than head gasket.
if it were headgasket it would be a lot more money than that
both are cambelt off jobs, which by that costing I doubt will be replaced or refitted correctly
ph1 I did some engine work on was mapped last week. Due to coming with a crappy cone, it had a ph2 airbox fitted. made mediocre bhp and decent torque. A Maxogen (which I've always rated as far too expensive for the gains) went on and with minor map tweaks it made another 8bhp!!
ph2 airbox is a...
multitude of reasons not to run gauzes like those.
Mainly:
they disrupt airflow at the sides of the trumpet (where the majority of the air comes from)
they filter very little but large stones. Grit, dust and all sorts of other foreign bodies will still go straight into the engine
it's £77.60 for a genuine bearing. I'd not advise using cheap non gen stuff as it wont last long at all. F.A.G. are the same as genuine in a different box. I've also found ABK bearings to be good
your car uses the 37x72x37 bearing
