I had exactly the same issue with my 182. Took about a week for the light to go off, but it did. I was told that I'd need to have the fault code cleared when I put my recaro's in and the airbag light came on, put the resistors in last week and the light went straight off.
TBF, over a year (12kmiles) the vee will be a fair bit more expensive. 20mpg vs 33mpg, gp20 vs gp16, servicing costs, tyres (more expensive on the 255's due to larger wheels), road fund licence. When you work it out, petrol alone is just over £1000 more, and thats at current prices! I would say...

Dads got an Aston AMV8. Vee is very, very good. Wasn't convinced until just now. Engine warm, tight 1st gear corner, boot it. Tail flicks out, neatly comes back into line. Amaaaazing!
He's seen me drive many times, he realises my Senna level skills, and has no fear. Plus I'm filling the tank, and with him spending his wages on eastern european ho's, every penny counts.
