I don't think you can blame Renault and other manfacturers totally. They don't know what people want, they ask focus groups who stay stuff like "The 172 is fast and fun, but if only it was built better and more reliable." Ultimately you can't have everything without compromise, manufacturers are...
Lol!
It's all about usage at the end of the day, i'm suprised you say the Clios don't have 4 pots for a 24 hour racing though.
A stock caliper is always going to be compromised, it was never intended for track use. Especially 24 hours worth of being stood on!
I can see what you're saying...
Can't believe i have completely missed 10 previous runs, it was great fun and i will definetly be on a few more! It was a serious challenge keeping up with Steve's tasty 182 but ultimately that made it all the better...

What do you mean by a Cup variant though. A lighter, more powerful or stiffened 197 still might not make it handle well or be overly exciting.
The problem which seems to stand out is the steering. Would Renault remove electric power steering just for us...i'm not sure.
Yeah, good review mate!
So far we've had two Cup owners review it. Personally i think if you drove a 172 you would notice the performance deficit so ozzy says, we need a slow ass 172 owner in there really!
