A proper UK spec one will have a CAT1 alarm and the immobilser on the car, a parallel import will just have the CAT2 immobiliser unless its been retrofitted with an alarm.
Castrol or the Fuchs are both good in my experience. Quite like Silkolene Pro S in the meggy but only because others seem to get a little thin with the heat, can get away with others in a 1*2 used to run halfords 5w40 (comma) in mine no problems.
Managed to get mine to fit spot on in the end but took a lot of fiddling with it, cutting 1.5" or so off the cat insert and getting creative with the mounts and it was brilliant. Then I sold the car lol. Still as it comes from the factory it simply just doesn't fit as ditz says.
Which one are you one about? The Xenon dip beam or the normal halogen main? Main is easy enough just a bit fiddly, dip is bumper off time can be done with it on but its just as easy to whip it off.
Do not buy one YET if you can't put up with it being a bit buggy at the moment, will be a brilliant phone once they finesse the firmware but is a bit questionable in areas software wise as it stands. Quite happy with mine barring a few hang ups, camera has improved optics and its definetly...
You cut an inch of the cat joining insert that goes in the front of the centre section? Needs cutting to get it to properly fit a Ph2 172 as it doesn't allow it to sit forward enough as standard. Its a piss fitting system but sounds spot on and is fine after a bit of fiddling.
Considering how much bigger the 225 intercooler is which runs less boost as standard i'd say its far from the perfect ideal but probably the best you can do with the very limited space you've got to play with without cutting stuff up.

You'd have to drive round with your eyes shut I see loads of 1*2s about, theres 4-5 that I see regular in nuneaton ones got some legendary shagging dents in the bonnet.

The milestones pretty decent from what I remember but I haven't been in a while, nice and local though so its all good with me. Get that stuff sorted!, i'm dying to see if i've grabbed a few more ponies sorting my injectors :rasp: get a feeling its wishful thinking though.
