If the knocking clears about 1800rpm then returns as it drops and it sounds like a tractor then yes its probably the dephasher. Don't run it anymore until its sorted as you don't want it to let go completely.
DrRollo posted some videos of the dephaser on his old 172 if you search for them so...
Yeh i'm aware of that as I said above it seems waaaay to loose like you say. Must be a misprint I guess.
edit: Just checked the F4R manual and 30nm then 86 degrees is right, doesn't say about the extra 16 though I guess it can't do any harm as long as it feels ok.

Thats says 45nm though? And thats out the manual for the Ph1 172, although I haven't checked the F4R manual. Although that sounds way more like it, s**tty angle tighting though :dead:.
Well same details with more miles and a higher valued car got me £1650 on my old 172 when I first had it from flux, although I was paying just under £1k for my 1.6 the year before too. You live in a bad postcode or something?
The aux belt kit is no cheaper than renault iirc, and the timing belt kit is missing an idler infact it looks like a kit for the 1.4/1.6. As I never got a new crank pulley bolt with the 1*2 kit but did with the 1.6 one.
Although I don't generally agree with some CS pricing they have dropped a lot in value over the last 12 months or so. The 197 and the current trend has put payed to that unfortunately.
What year is your 182? They won't work with them as you need a different adapter due to renault switching the system they used for the stalk/screen to canbus.
Ideally you want an alpine APF-D102RE adapter as that'll work with vehicle display interface to give you info on the screen also ala...
Munter in the way that its probably a friday afternoon car and has had problem after problem hence the large ammount of owners in a short time. I'd say its not worth looking at.
On one hand it might be fine, on the other it might be like DrRollo's old 172.
I'd think f**k that. 5 owners says problem car to me, i'd keep on looking. I'm not sure i'd want a trophy now they're all getting towards 3 years+ old tbh anyway. Any suspension problems and its just a recipe for £££ (if you wanted to keep the sachs setup).
I'd be wanting to view the sensor data to make sure everything correlates up. Could be the intake air temp sensor but then again your stabbing in the dark without any diagnostic gear.
If its a parrellel import then it won't have an alarm as standard simple as. The alarms were fitted to UK spec cars at the docks in southampton when they came into the country, reason being is for the car to comply with the CAT1 standard which is a UK only thing.
So cars originally bound for...
Me too but i'm guessing it'll go for peanuts, anywho morning bump! Need the space in the shed so I can put the standard 225 exhaust in when i've fitted the miltek.
Thats the high pressure feed from the power steering pump, just check the level in the reservior but you should be fine if you didn't loose a lot. Just check its not leaking in operation now.
It was never running a JC5 in the first place. The 1.2/1.4 16v lumps in the Mk2 use JB1 boxes, the JB/JC boxes aren't fitted to any of the new renaults afaik barring the clio campus so they'll be dead and buried when they stop making it (in the UK anyway).
Although the JR/JH series boxes are...
Its a false economy to buy they without abs rings and bearings tbh, unless you can get both cheap and have access to a press. They're expensive but its tough i'm afriad.
