There a compnay abroad who make turbo kits for the 1.2 16V corsa so the turbos are out ther 130 hp I think or so.
Noone realy bothered doing much as there no point the gearbox and clutch need chnaging anyway ktec amoungst others have looked in the past but they prices they were expecting were...
You cannot warp disks what happens is you stop dead with your foot on the pedal and some of the pad sticks to the disk when you drive off the bit of pad making the disks uneven.
Hard 60-10mph stops a few time then leave the brakes for a bit to cool down.
Don't stop and put your foot on the...
What box type is it?
I take it its got coolers etc i it?
What about clutch will that be the saviour of the gearbox ie it will break/slip first?
What gearing are you running on the car?
500rpm is a bit low 850 is the supposide normal but it its idling at 500rpm you'd know as it wouldn't sound right.
Not much obviously wrong the engine are good gearbox and clutches can be week engine mounts can be week and need doing but there cheap. wiring well its French so enough said but...
Not to bad to do,
Drain the cooling circuit via the lower radiator hose. Remove:
- the front right mud shield,
- the front bumper,
- the upper crossmember,
- the accessories belt
Use a jack etc to hold the engine and the and lower the engine as much as possible,
- the coolant pump...
Cup bolts are the same as normal Clio bolts. I'll have a mesaure of the ones I've got in a second but they look about right.
Hubcentrical are a better option but if your only using them for a short time why not use your old wheels to save the money.
Form before looks.
I realy like it cnanot belive the money you've spend great car though.
Will the sequenchial box stand the torque? Thats a lot of force your throwing at it.
To bed those pads in properly you need to do some serious stoipping 60-10 a few times for the first few times to get them to work properly.
Halfords stuff would be OK but depending how you are on track you migth find it boils quick quickly so you'd need to bled the brakes for the better stuff...
If its under warently you'll get a new TDC sensor its all covered if the dealer stanrts getting difficult tell them its not fitfor purpose so doesn't matter how long it last if it dies in less that 5 years its not suitable for its task.
Doesn't matter wich order you do them in you'll need about 2 liters of fluid as you'll spill loads trying to bleed the air out of the circuit affter you've fiotted all the lines.
I'd wait for better fluid stock fluid boils easly with harder pads. halfords use to see super dot 4 response which...
Wiring up is easy the noraml brake lines match up the handbrake cable need fitting and you need to plug in the ABS sensors then the 4 bolts to hold it in place and err thats it.
Its overkill a bit but most 172's don't need rear disks.
Personally I'd go to a breakers and get a axle froma...
Give us a better idea of the engine aage milage car model and the problem I don't think many people understand your problem (well I don't then again I'm thick).
Some Megans use the same size bolt spacing as the CLio
What age Megan is it?
Thats size tyre would fit depends on offset though.
You want them to have a 60.1mm or bigger center bore and a PCD of 4 x 100 ie there 4 bolts and there in a sqaure formation with 100mm on each side of the square.
Its about 1.5 hours worrk to swop only 4 bolts as said. Biggest think is bleeding the brakes.
Rear axles even drum ones are expensive £400 I think last time I checked.
If the airbags gon off you need a new airbags or resisters in the lines. Then you need to either get a newcomputer (£350 or...
Check the engine gearbox and most importantly the dogbone are all Ok no wear etc if the dogbone is badly worn it knock the car out of gear a lot.
£375 is a lot to put it in prespective its only a few hours to do a Williams/16V is possibly the worse Clio to do and I found specialist will do it...
And to be fair we'd have to compair it to a petrol Golf not a 182 etc.
Yep PD 150 remapped got a better time than the 172/182 next to it by a fair margin but then again the 172/182 didn't geta good time.
|I like cars but at the end of the day I have better things to do with money than...
The gearbox (assumine were on about 5 speed boxes) some in 3 spec JC1/JC3/JC5. The 1 is the weekest the 3 is stronger and the 5 the best and is used on the 172 and dci 80 models along with the Williams. Its only rated offically to 200NM warently strenght. The jc5 has stronger bits etc than the 3...
