Definitely DONT put anything in the rear! I just spent good money on some coaxials, and ended up turning the fader all the way to front, as the rears absolutely ruined the sound.
Yep, just did mine a few days ago. Fed power from the back of the lighter, behind the stereo and up through the air-vent slats in the top of the dash. No drilling or dash removal required, just scraped knuckles!
I also installed the separate antenna, although TBH I havent noticed any...
Interesting - Ive only driven the car for about an hour so far, and the RA2 has rarely dipped below the maximum 4 bars. Ill keep an eye on it though...
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but on my new 182 (delivered today), theres a clear square section on the windscreen, in the centre at the bottom, exactly where I planned on siting my Road Angel. Ive seen posted in various places that you need the add-on antenna to put on the rear...
Hi,
Just had my black 182 delivered by http://www.newcardiscount.comwww.newcardiscount.com - couldnt recommend them highly enough. I asked for quotes from most of the internet brokers - several didnt bother responding. I put a deposit down with one, who quoted 6 weeks, but then told me the day...
Difficult to say - as mentioned, Total dont make any claims for better power. Maybe Optimax produces no more power than other 98RON petrol, its just that (until recently), there wasnt any other 98RON available in the UK.
Since all Super UL is 98RON in France, maybe thats why Shell dont sell...
Just read the site (http://www.total.frwww.total.fr). They reckon on 4% better economy and 5% less CO2 emmisions. No claims for better performance though, and dont forget that 98RON is standard for Super Unleaded in France (instead of 97RON here).
Thanks - not sure where I got the thing about the amp from - thought I read it somewhere. Anyway, glad its not there - makes it much easier to swap the HU!
Im about to get a new 182 (non-Cup) which comes with the "upgraded" Cabasse stereo with separate amplifier.
Im sure Ill want to replace the stereo, but where would I pick up the speaker wires? Are they behind the stereo as usual, or are they near the amp? Presumably, theres some kind of...
Still wont produce a new V5 though - that has to come from Swansea. Although I used the post, I have to say that my local office (Maidstone) sent me the new tax disc and number plate authorisation form within 3 days of me applying, so no complaints there.
Im just quoting the DVLAs letter I received (V803) - maybe its a case of "under promise, over deliver", and itll arrive much quicker. Either way, I know thay dont start processing the new V5 application until they receive the old tax disc back, so you might want to make sure the seller has...
Not sure, as mines on retention, but Id imagine the procedure would be the same. Strictly speaking, the owner is not meant to sell the car until they have the new V5 (which according to DVLA, takes 4 - 8 weeks), but they may be happy to do so before it arrives, although theyd be in trouble in...
This is what happens (Ive just done it this week!):
1. The owner of the car applies to the local DVLA office to put the plate on retention, by sending them form V778/1 and the V5 registration document.
2. Within two or three days, the DVLA office sends back a V948 Number Plate Authorisation...
