Im getting a pc for Christmas (thanks 182blue!) and I was going to do these steps:-
Sonus Restore SFX3
Sonus Enhance SFX2
AG Super Resin Polish
AG Extra Gloss Protection
How would I be getting on with that lot?
(Im blown away by the finish people people are getting on detailing...
Thanks Rich,
I think i've got it! Just a couple more questions - sorry!
Do both pads fit on the velcro backplate? and are both the SFX and DAS available in the UK?
Cheers
I really like the ride on my standard 172. Its supple on the motorway and taut enough on the twisties. I think the short wheelbase of the clio makes it 'hop' sometimes - something you might not get with an LCR or similar. Also, I think you get used to a hard ride after a while - my old ITR was...
Thanks for the update bean. Could you let me know how much their labour rate is per hour pls, then I can figure out how much for aux belt and service.
Cheers
I used halfords 5w-40 fully synthetic in my ITR for a year, changing it at 6k/6 months. It had a seriously hard life (9k rpm everywhere!!) and at the end of the year it ran as smooth and quiet as when I got the car.
I will deffo be using it again in my 172 - especially at that price!
(I...
Here's the car hot-hatch fans have been waiting for - the next-generation Honda Civic Type R.
Due to get its first public airing at the Paris motor show, the new Type R uses a mildly tweaked version of the original car's 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine. It now has 198bhp on tap instead of 197, and...
Really interested in the janspeed. Just a few questions!
1. Are there different tailpipe options? I quite like the unrolled finish eg. latest m3 style.
2.How much is the system?
3.How much did your insurance go up by?
Thanks!
Ive heard this to be quite common on 182's cos in the factory they didnt lube the faces before fitting the wheels (saving money!)
You can shift them by slackening the bolts off then lowering the car back down. This should cause the wheel to twist slightly and so release it. Hope it works for...
I went to change the oil on my 182 the other day and found that i cant just use a normal spanner-its got a square hole.
Does anyone know where to get one of these tools? The hole looks about 6mm across.
Thanks!
Im keen to find this out. Mine has gone back twice for this fault. Each time they reloaded new ecu software and next day it was better and then got worse again :(
Hey ben-thats cool! Im VERY interested in this work for my standard 182-worth it?
Also im guessing that insurance wouldn't pick up on it?!
How much ££££? :)
It was something special and makes you feel special!
ITR for's
Awesome handling with progressive lift-off oversteer
Awesome sounding at 8600rpm
Good looking
Good seats
'Old school' Honda build quality i.e very good!
Great gearchange and clutch action
34 mpg (same as clio)
Huge boot...
I owned an itr for a year and liked it....but like my 182 far more!! Do you want all the reasons?
IMO id go with the mk1 172!
PS I dont believe that an itr is any faster
I would try to avoid renault if you can-most cars i hear about seem to come out with more faults than they went in with. Ask Lucas (or a garage you trust) to recommend someone local. Thats what i did and got someone very professional, knowledgable and helpful.
The airbag light is normally...
Would you use this in your 182? I know its not a 'true' synthetic but would be it be better than the mobil 10W-40 semi that the dealer put in?
PS It doen't like to rev with this oil - is it because its thicker?
Cheers
Renault aren't getting any more of my money now!!
(Last 12k renault service - lets see... Wrong oil 10w-40, scratched alloy, 191 quid!!)
I know you'll have a succesful garage! Cheers
I do-but only sometimes! It was really bad last weekend with the brake pedal vibrating (not ABS kicking in) and the steering shaking (two hands!).
I might just go for new disks and pads on the front anyway cos the brakes have been poor since I got my car 5k miles ago. My old diesel focus...
Great thanks for all the comments!
Its just under braking - strange thing is that it wont always do it on braking from speed but it always prevents me from coming to a smooth stop(kinda on/off even with constant pedal pressure). Will jack it up later and have a good look around with the...
Hi! Done 10k now in my 182 and the disks are quite warped (cos the steering shakes all over!) Only thing is, theres not that much wear on either the disks or pads.
Is it worth having them skimmed or should I just buy new disks from german and swedish car parts?
Opinions please!:)
